Just… why??? It hardly drops anything good. Why did they make it harder to get to? I’m half expecting Ion to to say in an interview, “We’d rather you didn’t loot the spectral bound chest.”

It’s always there inside and outside the rift. You never have to loot it inside the rift.
It drops 2 shoulder cosmetics.

They changed it in 9.1.5 so it’s sometimes in the rift, not outside.

I’ve never opened that thing even once. xD Have never been able to find all 3 keys. Sometimes I get 2 but then don’t find the third. Lol!
I’ve never seen it in the rift before but I’ve seen other chest in there and actual that is a cool spooky place to be in.
Third is by the guards between the trees near the chest found out the hard way,grrr. If you don’t see the key anywhere else.

Huh…that’s odd…I loot this every time I do Korthia which is about 5 days a week.
It’s always been outside the rift for me.
Anyways, the truth about the keys is they can spawn in any one of about 7-8 locations, however, anytime you interact with a particular key all of the others one will relocate.
So it’s possible to walk past one with the intention of getting it later but after you loot another key the initial key you walked past will have moved.
It’s a little confusing but once you understand it it’s really not hard.
Also, all I’ve ever gotten out of it is some relics and anima.
Hmmm…so you’ve somehow managed to be in 2 places at once to confirm this or are you simply going by word of mouth?

And I’ve seen the chest randomly disappear as well. Didnt know it was fading into the rift. The rewards are crap and it doesn’t even count towards the weekly quest % in Korthia

Lol, no, but If you walk past a key and loot one in another location and then return to the original key and its now gone, it’s not too difficult to deduce.
Install handynotes and then the Shadowlands plugin and you can just click the chest on your map and it will show the locations the keys can spawn at by marking your map and minimap with blue dots.

Honestly ,strange stuff been happening there at the island ,korthz was on the edge of the zone in the cliff last night so i guess if the chest is in the rift it’s a fluke.
It is never not outside the rift… it is also inside. I loot it every day on my main outside the rift.
