Specifics on target dums

I don’t understand what you mean by this:

“In fact, I’m fairly certain that getting to be living training dummies for demon hunters, possibly primarily male, to literally hack to death wouldn’t be a big win for women. It certainly doesn’t feel empowering as a guy, nor does it feel disempowering either.”

it actually wouldn’t be a big deal if those fat demons, the broodmothers, with wings, the ugly ones, were a training dummy lol, it would be hilarious too

Frankly if you look at the Forsaken version it’s probably a fate worse than death. They’ll cut you up and heal you again and again so they don’t need to replace you.

why wouldn’t it be a big win for female dh’s? I think it would would be because their hackign to death male demons lol but male demon hunters can’t have the same fun with female demons?

Why do you think Demon Hunters care which kind of demon they practice stabbing on? They have an almost single minded obsession with defeating the Burning Legion, not running a tumblr blog on gender equality.

Those Imp Brood Mothers are big. That aside, Blizzard can make a rabbit with a big hit box if they see fit. As if hit boxes are gender specific.

Strong words - but hollow considering the source.

I doubt you are in the position to make such assurances in any meaningful way. I doubt you are a Blizz dev. (You get far too many forum actions for that to be the case).

Every new day is a new opportunity to expand our horizons.

You honestly sound like a dense psychopath. I assure you, the Illidari don’t give a crap what the gender of the demon they’re slicing to death is. They just care that it’s a demon.

I’m unsure why you care, but it sounds just like you wanna beat up more women in video games. Really a personal problem.

Literally nothing you just said disproves anything I just said. If you honestly believe that demons getting hacked to death is evidence towards some great gender gap in video games, then… well, you’re a special little lad. Good luck out there.

You just spouted your opinion. As did I.

You did not spout any facts. As I said - your assurances mean nothing. You are just a random poster, as am I, and others here. You have no more insight into the devs PoV than I.

I am not trying to disprove your opinion. Think what you may.

If you had any facts to share, those could be parsed and proven or disproven. All you have is your opinion and your empty assurances - and I take them for what they are worth.

While I can appreciate any well wishes - even sarcastic ones - I do believe the video game industry is particularly weighted towards some demented male fantasy that is rather inconsiderate of females or males who do not agree with such portrayals.

Good on you. I assure you, the demons you hack and slash in the demon hunter hall aren’t part of that, and I think you’d be hard pressed to find anyone but you and the OP who authentically thinks that this is an actual gender issue, and you spouting off about it paints you as a nut looking for things to complain about. It’s more harmful than helpful to the cause you claim to care about.

In fact, I don’t think you actually care about it. I think you just wanna be a contrarian again.

The Target Dummy thing is not a big deal in and of itself. It is just a microcosm. A small thing that sheds light on a bigger issue.

It is not a glaring lore issue. There are many more blatant lore concerns.

However - all I can do is state you are wrong. It is a concern of mine.

A few months back there was a thread about female representation. My positions have been fairly consistent. It is not some new opinion I created to be contrarian. I saw a discussion thread about it, so I posted my opinion.

It’s not. It’s absolutely not. I’m not saying that gender politics in video game design aren’t a thing. But saying that only putting male demons in chains for people to hit is some sort of micro aggression born from sexist tendencies is reaaaally reading way too far into it. All it was is just picking a model that looks epic chained up. I don’t care about what your views are (as I still think you’re just grandstanding for brownie points), you’re just looking for a reason for outrage. Doubly so if it’s a reason that not many people are putting stock in.

What I’m getting from this is that you want to hit women. You heard it here first; Cursewords wants to hit more women in video games. Can’t say I’m shocked.

Ironic since half this forum is about killing the first female Warchief, or other wise putting her in her place.

Again, that’s not about gender politics either, as much as you’d like it to be. “You hate Sylvanas because she’s a strong woman” is the equivalent of “You like Sylvanas because boobs.” You seeing my point now, or are you just digging your heels in?

Your point is the same as always - baseless accusations and nonsense.

You call me that, without even knowing if I have a wife. If your words had any logic or truth, they might mean something.

Should Blizz ever make t-moggable heels, though, I would wear them, and dig them in.

How the flip did this thread get so many comments? And about training dummies, of all things.

I’m sorry.

Because two target dummies wanted to practice on each other, but they’re too stupid to know that their dunce caps aren’t helmets.

That’s hurtful.
Correct, but hurtful.

Saving this quote for future use.
