First time, huh?
The fact that Ion was given this job as an ex-lawyer is not an accident.

Shaman have wanted to tank longer than Dracs have even being an idea.
Us first.
100% Bards that do damage AND support can totally be a thing. Just look at the bards from A Bardâs Tale for proof of that.
Shammies are doing mostly fine right now. A few buffs here and there and we are good.
Tinkers, mech suit. Done.
They can also be healers and DPS.
Think D. VA, Anna, and Torbjorn from Overwatch for those examples.
Thank goodness they did not get a tank spec before Shaman.
We should have been tanks since Vanilla.
Warlocks COULD tank the same way BM hunters could tank with pets. I would say Warlocks would be better equipped because of their ability to steal health and send it to their pets.
You must be new here. Pretty much par for the course around here.
Itâs gd. They have to disagree no matter the topic. Itâs required xD
Tbh I have no idea what topic, but Ive seen a few over the months since evokers got released in SL
I had to rub it in. I guess I shouldnât be too hard on people, I remember before I could pick up on verbal slight of hand, but it is just so darn obvious when you know what to look for.
I mean it was undeniable even though some still did until they were blue in the face, despite 10.1 ptr evoker only quest lines that had ânew specialization rememberedâ in the quest text and the name of the trapped black dragon before 10.0.7 was out. That was further backed up by voice lines talking of three specs, and the nay sayers still tried to deny it
Super happy it isnât a tank spec and still seems very much like a full on caster. Hope Blizzard never ever gives in and makes evokers a tank or melee-capable class.
I predict this spec will be garbage or mandatory in mythic+. In no life mythic raiding, itâll probably also either be totally ignored or mandatory for cheese strats.
I also predict this will be the goto spec for bad players who can now claim they are playing to be a support intentionally. Hopefully itâs as easy as BM hunter and havoc are to play so left of bell curves can transition and still be more useful than they are playing a DPS and sucking at it.
ROFL some of these are amazing.
Specifically, this one takes the cake.
"Are ppl realy that naive or are you guys just sheeps? Nobody ever said theyre going to make another specâŚmaybe some â150 alts, never touched endgameâ andy on forum did post it as his wet dream or something âŚand everyone just joined the ride.
Now Ion said - theyre open for anything in the future ⌠Now im just waiting for AMAGAAD 10.1.5 - 3. SPEC FOR EVOKERS CONFIRMED topic on gd from same morons that started the rumor about 10.1."
Some people are super mad for no reason xD
Still not going to play a Blizzard lizard. Even I have my standards.
Blizzard finally gives people a Bard, and nobody is really happy.
Imagine my surprise.
First of all, I feel for you Demon Hunters, I was expecting DH to get an Inquisitor like spec or Shamans to get their 4th spec, before Envoker got a 3rd spec. Feelsbadman.
I gotta say though, Blizzardâs more risky moves have been surprisingly successful this expac.
Upheaval looks cool. The other spells sound cool. I wanted more Bronze specialization with my Evoker and this spec has Bronze attunement.
This has the potential to be really awesome. And even if it isnât, itâs nice to feel excited about about fresh ideas in this game again.
Plus itâs dropping right in time (ha) for the Infinite Dragonflight stuff! Iâve been waiting for this!
Tank spec would definitely have been dope, though.
I think people are blowing it out of proportion.
Think Blessing of Summer on Holy Pallies, it counts as their dmg and shows up in their logs, but is a % boost based on an allyâs damage.
Iâm 99% sure this will just be a DPS with lower dmg that has a couple very easy to calculate and tune buffs where you make up that lost dps through others.
So far itâs just, giving 4 allies a flat amount of primary stat and maintaining that, then another that just does dmg based on % of allies dmg.
That doesnât sound very hard to tune. Most likely it will end up being alright and feel bad when you group with low dps lol.
One funny thing to think about is how primary stat affects classes. Like Brewmaster gains stagger % based on Agility, so could Augmentation make BM op? What happens if you stacked 3 Augmenters?
I am pretty thrilled. I love support type classes. I usually play healers if I can, but something like Augmentation gives me ways to help my teammates even when I am having to DPS. A support spec for Evoker is exactly what I wanted.
Thank you for taking the time to give your thoughts. I agree with you about the unsatisfying way in which the game conveys the impact of support.
Hopefully by committing the effort to making a true âsupport classâ they will be able to find a happy medium.
Again, thank you for your time and cogent thoughts.
Maybe instead of adding new specs they should try to balance the ones they currently have in game? Just a thoughtâŚ
You took the words right outta my mouth lol
I know exactly how this will end:
For the first 2 Months itâs insane and every Group will take one with them.
Then the spec is absolutely gutted out and nerfed into ground so that no one will take them anywhere.
Then after half a patch they realize they overdid nerfing but the damage is already done and 50% of augmentation mains are gone forever.
Creating more tanking specs doesnât increase the number of tanks thoigh. Would have been an even bigger waste
Preservation Evoker all over again basically would be lying if I said I didnât expect that to happen when the hints of a third Evoker spec were found.
No heâs an ex Lawyer he never lied he just didnât tell the whole truth.
