I am currently trying to do the Special Assignment: Shade and Claw in Eversong. I have to kill 8 stalkers and destroy 6 altars but I do not see any of those in the quest area
I watched a vid of it on youtube but in the video those things are showing up. Also I looked on WoWhead and the quests isnt even pulling up.
Anyone know what I’m missing or if its a bug?
Possible phasing? Do you have an active quest anywhere near there?
I thought about that and looked at all my quests. I dont have any in that zone. Its on the cusp of Zulaman so checked there as well and abandoned all the quests
I wouldnt be so worried but the reward is a chest
Hmm…Is this an alt, and have you done the Campaign skips?
Yeah, I did’nt do the campaign quest for this zone. That would suck since its where the special assignment is but that is something that could cause phasing issues; didnt think of that
Guess I’ll just let go and let God; I really don’t want to do the campaign again for the zone so that’s on me
Yea thats the only thing I can think of. I assume youve already done the usual log out, relog in stuff?
yeah, its likely the phasing/campaign thing you mentioned. I know things like that have caused phasing issues in the past
Keep in mind that you need to have a blessing from an altar to even see the stalkers. However, if you can’t see altars, that’s a bigger problem.
Had the same problem. Just finished the quest with Zul’jarra and Liadrin that takes you into Zul’Aman. Quest went up until the you use the catapults to destroy the void ball the warlock was working on. Good to go after that it seems.
I had to advance the campaign in Zand so it was away from the area then I could do it. Also had to do that to get the highest peak telescope and see the rare close by in eversong woods.
In my case, at least, completing the Beat of Blood quest for entering Zul’Aman immediately made the quest available, and the altars visible.
I had not entered Zul’Aman yet, and got all the altars and 4 stalkers and then no more stalkers and I ‘ve been looking for 20 minutes. I’ve left the zone and come back and now I am attempting to do the opening quests for Zul’Aman. I even logged out a couple of times. It’s bugged or something. I also want the chest.

I think you need a buff from an alter to be able to see the stalkers. If you’ve lost the buff, see if you can still find another alter?
The altars are also gone now. That was a really good idea though.
This is the answer, do the first few story quests in Zul and this will become unphased.
Thank you for linking this. I was having the same problem with nothing appearing. After visiting Sindormi and skipping the campaign quests I went back to the special assignment and the enemies and altars spawned appropriately.
You can also get the buff from glowing green balls around the area.
Quest in ZA until you complete this quest: Break the Blade.
All my alts were able to complete it. The one that wasn’t isn’t really a priority right now but was still a bit annoying
