I’ve been having difficulties figuring out which spec dishes out moves the fastest without the dreaded cooldowns. That includes quick move that hardly do any damage at all, like Drain Life.
This is because I’ve been running some old content on my lock and found it annoying having to cast constantly for something that’s like 20 levels lower than me.
for old content i always played affliction since your dots are instant casts and you can just tab dot everything and it dies in 1-2 ticks depending on the expansion

Affliction is typically the easiest and most efficient spec when comes to running old content.
Your dots are instant cast and usually enough to took out enemies within a few ticks, and you’re not prone to get facepalm-ed with hair-pulling issues like mobs can’t be looted because Felguard killed them before you manage to tag them, or now-i-really-want-immolate-with-no-cast-time on those pack of low hp mobs.
And AoE is relatively quick and painless - seed, follow up with haunt, and pretty much everything dies.
At low level content/mog runs, Seed almost redeem itself from the terrible state in end game. Well, almost.
This was fixed some time ago. Now you can loot mobs even if your pets did all damaged to it.
Really? That’s great. I’ll give it a try later in older mog runs and see how it pans out.
