Spec Based Transmog

I would love to be able to have transmog based on spec. Holy and shadow are two specs that don’t share any colors in spells (if you are trying to create a transmog that matches your spell casting) or feel like they would wear the same type of gear based on lore.

Currently I can use a single transmog for all specs or I can go to the transmog vendor and pay to transmog all of the gear that isn’t set specific like gloves, pants, boots, and belt. But I switch spec (Upwards of 10 times a day) and this would get expensive and just be a pita having to fly to the docks that often.

I get that it would probably take an entire rewrite of how transmog works (perhaps tie it to the equipment manager sets) but it would be time well spent on a permanent system.

wait… can’t you already do this?

I"m pretty sure you can set mogs per spec with a little drop down on the bottom left side of the menu when you’re doing your transmog.

Like, be in Shadow, go set your transmog, drop down and select “for this spec” or whatever the verbage is, I’m at work and can’t look, finish the transaction. Switch to holy/disc and your set your mog again ‘for that spec’ with the drop down, now when you switch specs it should switch mogs as well.

I’m like 99% sure that’s how it works currently in game.

Or are you asking for something different?

That was what I was asking for, if this is in game I’m not sure how I missed it.

Holy crap it is in game its the little arrow left of the apply. I don’t know how I never knew about this.

This is game changing.

yeah, next time you go to a transmog vendor look at the bottom left. I think there’s a drop down for it.

Just get creative with existing pieces. For example, the Nyalotha gear is fantastic for shadow priests. You can also use some of the warlock MoP pieces or warlock look alike sets in general to make a good shadow set.

Holy isnt hard at all to mog for, I agree that like 90% of priests sets are based around the holy aspect. But get your creative juices flowing! I’m sure you’ll think if something.

I also realize after typing all of that, that I misread what you wanted.

I think having a mog saved to your spec is a fantastic idea. They kinda have that in place with how the legion artifacts mog, you can basically set the transmog to each specs artifact and when you swap specs it auto changes. So the technology is there to an extent.

At the bottom of the transmog window, there is a drop down option to select for All Specifications or per spec.

Your not the only one…

There is a dropdown at the bottom of your transmog window that will set your transmog to only one spec, and switch between your transmogs when you change specs.

So you can have a glittering golden Holy set, a dark and sinister Shadow set, and a silvery grey Discipline set, all at the same time.

Edit: Tabbed away for a few minutes and got beat to respond. Enjoy your 'mogging!

Leave it to the mechagnome to know something off in their data files

Don’t feel bad. I learn new stuff all the time. There’s a LOT in this game. I just found out yesterday that I could filter out all of the different pet types from my battle pet menu.

Just glad I could help.

Enhanced Pet Journal and Pet Battle Teams are two awesome addons, btw.

This already exists.

I will definitely check them out!

I just started doing pet battles more seriously and focusing more on collecting pets/mounts/mogs. It’s almost like playing a totally new game. I’m excited! Thanks for the suggestions.

If you are doing lots of pet battles and collecting Pet BreedID is great for finding the right pet.

Wait hold on did all of you not realize that exists?

I’ve been doing Current Specialization only my entire time.

I blame it being hidden behind an arrow. Seriously who clicks on random arrows?

Seriously I’m not sure a lot of people know about this. I’ve never seen anyones transmog change instantly when they change specs, shoot I’m not even sure I’ve seen people with multiple transmogs based on specs. Everyone I’ve played with just makes a general one to share amongst all their specs.

Apparently it was in the tutorial in legion. But ummm… I don’t read tutorials.

If you don’t have it yet, I highly recommend the mod “All The Things” for collecting purposes.

Definitely a great addon. I’m up to 43% of all the things on my warrior.

Now I have to start on priest. Just short of 22%
