So I’d just like to put out the idea of transmogging spears with shields. I mean you can already xmog dual polearms on fury warriors so whats transmogging main-hand only spears/polearms? Nothing stranger then seeing warriors slashing with twin spears, at least shield + Spear makes sense as many units in games will use shields with spears, even historical figures use shields with spears Coughs Spartans, vikings, Medieval Europe Coughs
So what are your thoughts? Since we’re getting the ability to hide every object on our bodies except pants, why not add a lil something too? Though it would probably only effect warriors, it would be a nice lil change. You could swap up the animations to that of the stabby stab dagger to fit it together.
The evidence shows that spears were almost universally the most common weapon throughout history. The main reasons for them being so is that they are effective, easy to use, and cheap to make.
Most types of swords are at a distinct disadvantage versus a spear or other polearm, and were usually carried as side arms or, in later periods, for self defense in civilian life. Context is important.
Matt Easton here covers this in more detail if you’re interested. He and Lloyd from Lindybeige also ran a test of 50 bouts with sword vs spear, with different people, and the spear won the majority of the time.
I would love more Transmog freedom as a warrior. I would like the ability to also Transmog Fury’s weapons into one hand weapons. Transmog the Arms shield you get with a talent and maybe this is asking a little much but the ability to Transmog Fury’s offhand into a shield.
