Do Not Buy NZXT | Predatory, Evil Rental Computer Scam Investigated

Nobody does investigative journalism in the computer hardware industry like Steve.

I agree, he has been on top of a lot of things especially in the last year or so. For example, he was one of the people leading the charge uncovering the scandal with the failing Intel 13 and 14-series CPUs. An amazing resource IMO.

Agree also. GamersNexus got the behemoth Asus to LITERALLY change and reword their RMA process to be more consumer friendly. Granted they should have been this way from the start but its still a good accomplishment.

A lot of people argue hes doing this for views. Of course he is! That IS his job. So yes hes making money while telling you how NOT to waste yours! Sadly hes also the only tech-YouTuber doing this. I mean Jay from Jayz2cents does to a point but not the same scale. More people need to call these companies out.

over the years I just have a hard time listening to their videos. I can appreciate the content and he definitely has an audience, and perhaps this is just the fault of short form videos influencing my viewing patterns, but damn dude, i don’t know if his need to be so long and intricate.

it’s one of the things i like about HUB; they do a great job on graph presentation. easy to read, easy to digest, and the cadence of speech is easy to follow and just skip around and good exhaustive sample sizes.

Do I wish they used different presets? yeah, sometimes I wish they did high instead of ultra, and sometimes I wish they would test configurations a little differently, but I don’t really doubt the data ever.

Mostly, it’s easy to read and consume. That’s a big deal these days and GN is just too long winded.

Well Jay gave a pretty good solid response to this himself. He has now officially cut them off also

Steve definitely gives off those “I’m smarter than you” Bill Maher type vibes. But it’s nice to see him act consistently with his morals (especially in this day and age), and it’s nice to see other computer hardware content creators acting like some things are more important than money, too.

Not really. I think only a younger demographic would perceive that of him. Just the way he is in real life. Steve is just very Blunt in the way he talks. Then you have people like Paul from Paul’s Tech tips who is the exact opposite. Hes very soft spoken.

Like I said if he wants to make money Job of the Press! Their Job was to warn people of scummy companies and they did just that! Among other things. They use to be on the side of the people. Then the 80s hit and that slowly started fading away. Sadly those days are LONG gone.

Like I said above. Him making $$ off views? while tellings us how NOT to waste our money into a job and legit avoid being scammed? Yeah I’m all for that

It depends on your age I guess and if you lean more tech enthusiast or gamer fan boy. For those of us old enough to remember, GN was the place to go for written case reviews thanks to Patrick and Steve. Once Steve decided to follow Linus (literally made a video once following him around in a convention) you see him enter other PC hardware reviews. I know for a fact he pissed off some CPU cooler reviewer (one who had done it for over a decade) when he came out and said all prior CPU cooler are wrong other then his new test system. He also entered PSU reviews and one of the top PSU reviewers posted on his blog “just because you bought a bunch of expensive testing equipment doesn’t mean you know how to use it”. IMHO, both steve and jay fall into the click bait headline guys. That’s their business model for making money, that’s fine. I don’t watch much of their stuff anyways, they take too long to state anything meaningful and are not as entertaining as Linus (don’t really watch him either).

Don’t fell too bad, both of them will recovery any lost NZXT ad dollars with their youtube revenue for these videos.

That’s because they write articles as well. They are not focused on being the “brand”. Steve from HUB (not to be confused with Steve from GN) has some excellent articles/videos on game engines, core use, how textures move within the GPU & PC. Frankly some people around here should read them as well his the techpost articles (site he writes for) on game rendering which are written by other respected tech journalist like Nick Evanson.

Interesting passive-aggressive way of throwing around some age-based discrimination and insulting people by calling them “gamer fan boys”. Stay classy.

Getting triggered and throwing around insults because other people post about a site that you don’t like - does that sound like behavior more befitting a “tech enthusiast” or a “fan boy”? I’ll let the audience decide.

Almost every GamersNexus video has a written counterpart on the GamersNexus website.

All things being equal, I prefer written articles also, but ultimately it’s the quality of the journalism that matters most.

you have every right to your opinion, my opinion is your opinions are as worthless as you are but hey you seem to keep replying to each and every one of my posts. Some people would call that pathetic, I just call it what it is…I’m clearly inside your head lol

Interesting take, considering that I was a participant in this thread before you were. I just don’t think that insults contribute to a productive conversation. You apparently do, since you just keep piling them on.

I did not reply to you yet you just can’t stop replying to me, do I complete you and live in your head rent free?

*if the descriptions I use happen to describe you well that’s more of a you problem
