This change is asinine, Necrotic aura from 8% to 4%. Meanwhile every class that wrecks dk gets buffs, no buffs or revisions to our defensives (either spec).
These are the sorts of things we need to stop as a community with feedback. This isn’t the change DK’s need and I really can’t see how we’re doing too much damage when we’ve got melee that are holding 150k+ dps in arena (Fury, WW) WW was not nerfed Fury was buffed.
As far as frost goes the changes were again out of touch. No buffs to defenses, Naura nerf hits them too and the biggest damage bump went into Frost Fever (30% increased damage as of Tuesday in pvp) which is sheer idiocy. Frost fever damage being low isn’t a top 50 problem for frost in pvp.
These developers are way out of touch. DKs need a nudge in defensives not damage nerfs.
Yeah id just like to say that Necro aura isnt picked because its “insane” but because all our other talents are just so weak or unhelpful or even straight terrible design
It’s because people think DK is OP, it’s not, it gets bent over, cheeks get spread, no lube, when focused. I always focus dk in my matches now because it’s an easy win, it’s a bigger joke when I see someone as frost.
This is an odd honor talent. Where could it be good? I’ve played it in a few arenas and maintained dnd with very high uptime on 2+ people for the whole game and even then it was of lackluster or questionable value.
There needs to be one of those magical +% buffs for it to be worth anything. Problem is it’s been a nothing-no-pick talent since its inception. If blizzard were to make it useful they’ll do a compensatory nerf somewhere.
I think it says a lot when someone like Mes is talking about how the balance team feels biased this expansion. It’s a completely unnecessary change that just guts another honor talent for DK.
What’s even left to nerf? All of our talents and abilities have modifiers on them. We’re seeing builds without capstones on both sides of the talent trees.
In a vacuum none of the changes have destroyed this class but little by little we’re being chipped away at. Same thing happened to destro, none of the nerfs were huge but little by little the spec became mediocre.
I don’t get how Mage/Rogue/WW/Boomie/Spriest keep escaping nerfs. Oh and random BG’s were already littered with a billion MM hunter’s and will be unplayable now. I don’t get these balance changes at all.
Wishing they’d buff Soul Reaper by 250% or something. Limb damage may be gone but at least it pulls once and gives a bunch of generation, so it’ll probably stay for most setups.
Another thing that would benefit from like a 100-200%+ buff.
I’m probably in the minority on soul reaper. I think it should be removed from the general tree and put somewhere in the Unholy tree. It’s never going to be PvP viable as long as it needs time to go off, it’s going to feel clunky for Frost, and not really good at all for Blood. It’s a niche talent for higher end M+ and single target damage.
I’d rather see something with some Unholy flavor in there like raise abom or something new entirely.
Should be buffed in damage around 30% or more (arguably more for frost dk specifically, It should be extremely potent given its a capstone, and PURE single target in execute range)
Should automatically explode at 15% health without the regular 5s requirement (this is good for pve and pvp, since its an execute it should be the prefered button at low health, sometimes it isnt because the target will die before you actually get damage value from the soulreaper. Automatically exploding at a certain point prevents this)
Should cost runic power instead of runes (Fits into the flow of our rotation and resources better)
And after all that if its still arguably not good, Then we can consider interactions with Enduring Strength, or Icecap
Also worth noting that specifically in pvp Soul Reaper can be dispelled and completely negated, Its very worthy of many of those changes. it should be the best execute in the game if it goes off, even in what it costs in resources as well
I honestly think it was ment to go into a defile build however it’s absorb value is so little that it’s not worth.
If they made it 2x necrotic strike value currently it would be decent overall because a lot of people stand in DND, defile you don’t have a choice it grows fast.
Yeah not much left at some point soon the devs will need to do another honor talent rework because they’ve destroyed everything again, just like every other expac since legion.
Yeah the nerfs hurt worse because everything that wrecks dk got buffed. Not a lot of people are playing/aware of outlaw yet but thats another spec that blasts DK when it’s good.
Is there literally anyone, even hunter players, who said “hey I need more damage”. I get hunter players wanting more defensives or mobility in this meta but I can’t even wrap my head around a damage buff.
