Spawn time for everything sucks, not just quest mobs

Went out to the Swamp of Sorrows to try and get a few Heart of the Wild for my Dreamweave items. On 3 different layers all I saw was 4-5 people running around in circles fighting for anything that popped. There are only a handful of spawns and the spawn time seems to be 10+ minutes on each one. It’s just ridiculous.

This is not a fun interaction in a video game. Increase the spawn time on every mob in Azeroth.

Gotta agree here. Mindlessly trying to tag mobs with 10 other people in a 20 year old game often has me wondering why I’m even playing this. It just feels bad.

Yep, we are back to the spawn campers and circle runners after a brief respite yesterday with the hyperspawning. I got more quests done in that time yesterday than i had in the previous two days.

Running back and forth waiting for spawns is just unbearable.

It’s antiquated. All it does it push players to stop farming and just buy from the AH which wouldn’t normally be an issue but that just helps Bots and pushes players to engage in RMT.

This may be an unpopular opinion, but as a relatively successful adult who has way more disposable income than patience and time, I would GREATLY prefer to buy a WoW token and spend gold on the AH than spend 3 hours fighting for spawns against 4-5 other players.

It’s not even close. The level of enjoyment I’m getting out of farming these items is well below zero.

shame really. i should be able to pay someone else to farm for me at least. it’s not like im asking to be carried on a palanquin

In 2004 this stuff worked because everyone came from EverQuest, which had the lowest QoL of any game in the history of gaming. People were like, “OMG 10 minute spawns?!? THAT’S AMAZING”.

In 2024 it’s just annoying.

I’ve been saying this for 20 years. The hardest part of any endeavor in WoW should not be tagging things first. If that’s the hardest part of the quest, the devs have failed. Make the enemies difficult to kill. Make the drop chance low. Do anything except artificially delay the acquisition of items through long spawn times.

When classic had been out a bit I remember running around those spawns. Do a loop wait a few and they’d start to respawn. This is one person. So if you add a bunch you get the experience you’re having.

Then they wonder why people dungeon grind to level… as opposed to having this experience with leveling too.

htow is the most expensive item in the game right now. Ofc it’s going to be farmed like crazy.

massive disagree, there are enough bots in the swamp already, have some patience boomer

Supply and demand is the only reason you’re seeing bots there. If the mobs hyperspawned the hearts would be worth nothing and the bots wouldn’t feel the need to farm them.

I know this must be difficult to understand for a non-boomer. Don’t worry, elementary school is surely coming soon.

And imagine, there are people wanting zero layers.

Wouldnt it be fun to fight 100+ people for those tags. Or on launch weeks like 5,000

you are clueless about how hyperspawns would affect things

i was one of the very few who quested on their main from 25-40, sadly, there would be no “fighting 100+ people” because they would all be in an instance

I agree to an extend, the worst offenders are quests that requires you to kills mobs that only spawn in small quantity, it’s painful even without competition. Fortunately most quests aren’t like that.
