Please hyper spawn or allow shared tagging for everything at the beginning of the official launch. It would be so much more fun not having to wait 30 minutes fighting for mobs to spawn because of the scarcity of spawn rates combined with the surplus of players.
Not having shared tagging is not a wise choice when community is the goal.
This is one lesson I had hoped to see learned.
Seriously, they need it for the official launch. Even just in beta, without any realms or lots of layering, there are too many people to make any good progress on quests. I like to level solo so I’m not stuck asking everyone “did you get what you need? Can we finally move on?” for each and every quest, and even if grouping is the goal it’s just no fun being forced to compete with tags.
Official launch definitely needs this so that people can actually play the game, especially in starting zones.
Yes please. I can’t believe that in 2026, “first tag gets the mob” is actually a thing.
Never mind for the moment the literal hundreds of people in the starting zone, all trying to get the same handful of mobs.
It’s just common sense all around to allow for shared tagging.
I just gave feedback that there were too many players for the spawn rate when I FINALLY got my 10 vermin lol
It’s like a song in my heart, “ForEver! ForEver!”
I’m totally gonna track the forum for complaints like this one.
spawn rates are really really high vs original vanilla. like 10x or something it seems. for kill quests, its worth just joining a group with the next person to come along
Shared tagging for named quest mobs should be a thing. Regular mobs, only if it’s completely unreasonable.
After players fan out of the starting zone this will be a non issue.
This always happens every Classic and Classic Expansion launch. After a weekish it’s a non issue.
It will always be an issue.
Shared tagging feels very different to classic, I think it smooths a problem that should exist.
Having a bit of tension with other players and an incentive to group (even if nothing is said) is a good part of the game, even if it feels a bit frustrating sometimes.
On release they should just layer/shard reasonably aggressively so the worst of it is avoided.
Is not what you want amongst peers.
Fighting over crap we should work on together is where the garbage community came from.
Fight outside the faction, not within for kills and loot and so on.
Having opportunities for players to be selfish or to be kind is a good thing.
Retail often just has a mess of open world combat because there’s lots of incentive to tag stuff and not much to actually contribute to killing things.
In the AQ gates, tagging was responsible for a core element of gameplay and control over mob spawns (and the pvp that went alongside that).
I can’t disagree more with selfishness.
Agree not to see eye to eye
its because the game this is based on is actually from 2006, not 2026.
Ill never support turning this MMO into a single player game over concerns like this.
Grouping is how you share tags
I’m not saying players being selfish is a good thing neccessarily (but damn does beating them on the next tag feel good).
Really it’s that the choice of how resources are distributed is an element of the game that should be preserved. It drives a lot of emergent gameplay, from something as small as just adjusting your farming route when someone joins an area to having PvP battles for control of more important resources.
Yea 20 plus years ago.
If community is the goal, leave as it is.
You invite people to your goup to share tags.
People wish for Classic+ and instantly turn into something that ain’t classic.
Yep, let the community fight over tags. Community. Love how all the answers for you all is 5 man groups. Classic mindset for sure.
Don’t forget that plus.
