I had the quest Sparks of War: Azj-Kahet last week and could not get any Sparks of War to drop. PvP mode on, in the correct zone, and not in a raid. Tried quests, rares, and disturbed earth with no luck. Not much actual WPvP on my server/group, so haven’t been able to test that yet.
Now after the reset, I have the Sparks of War: Isle of Dorn quest this week and am having the same experience in that zone.
There is a semi-rare scenario where clicking the War Mode button doesn’t actually fully put you into War Mode. The button remains highlighted, but you end up not being granted the Enlisted buff and thus can’t earn War Mode rewards or be placed in War Mode shards. Did you double-check that you have the buff?
In that scenario, I’ve usually have to click it a few more times and then wait for the buff to appear after another on toggle.
Oh, god. Feeling like a big ol’ noob now. Haven’t played since WoD and didn’t realize war mode was a different thing than toggling PvP on from your player frame. Thanks!
