hey guys, so i got Spark of the Fallen Exarch to mod my truthguard to drop BUT i dont have options to mog my current weapons to my artifacts. Ive heard i had to obtain the weapon in legion and i did technically come back to playing just before BFA came out so i was hoping someone could point me in a direction so i can use this appearance.

Okay, the thing is, Truthguard is a shield, so we think of it as going in offhand, right? But there’s a sword that goes with it. All the artifacts are both-hands. So to find them in the transmog you have to pick your main hand slot, then go down the “weapon type” dropbox to get to Artifact Weapons. Unfortunately, this means that what you get to choose among is the sword appearances. But in the preview pane it’ll show the shield that goes with the sword you’ve highlighted, it’s just not as straightforward.
Naturally you have to be in protection spec for this.
I seem to recall hearing that you have to go to the class hall and set the new appearance on the real artifact weapon before you can use it in xmog but I haven’t tested that.

If you’re unable to see artifact appearances you’ve unlocked in the transmog interface, there are a number of things you should try:
-Go to the artifact altar in your class hall and click on all of the boxes in the appearances section.
-Switch specs to ret/holy.
-Switch back to prot.
-Relog
For whatever reason, appearances you’ve unlocked in BfA don’t like to show up until you jump through one/all of those hoops.
As the above poster said as well, artifact appearances in the xmog interface are all accessed through your mainhand weapon slot. Even if it’s primarily a shield like prot paladins/warriors.
