Spark of Dreams Cost

Did Ion give any (reasonable) reason why it now costs 250 flight stones to combine 2 splintered sparks into a Spark of Dreams? That is kind of a hefty price considering it cost us absolutely nothing the prior 2 patches.

Simple, they thought being able to make gear was just far tooo generous even thought its also kept in line with crests as well

So clearly flightstones gotta be used as well

Quite delusional, considering the drop limitations of the splintered sparks, but I would not expect less.

Flightstones existing at all is stupid imo.

Well it is a good thing that Blizzard doesn’t listen to you… as it offers a path of armor upgrading for casuals. You don’t have to worry about that cause of your l33t skills… so why do you concern yourself dude.

Flightstones fell by the wayside last tier when the meta for gearing was more about crafting every single slot and really only needing to upgrade trinkets and some tier slots.

You are aware that literally every tier of armor uses flight stones to upgrade, correct? It has nothing do with whether you’re casual or not

That is to upgrade dropped items, it should not be part of the crafted gear route.
The fact they have a “catch-up mechanism” and limitation on how many splinters you can get a week, but then add a 250 flight stone requirement is absurd.

You are not allowing people to “catch-up” when you dump that amount of flight stones into the equation.

If anything it would be more reasonable to lower the base item level of the gear, and have the “Crests” be the bottle neck for the item level.

It is moronic to charge the 250 to just combine those splinters, I don’t care how much of a shill you are, that is not the best solution.

The new upgrade system being a thing is dumb imo. Just bring back valor

I mean I’m no more a fan of the currency situation than the next guy, but expecting 250 flightstones every two weeks to make a spark is like the least taxing thing about flightstones as a currency lol.

Every upgrade cost flightstones in addition to its associated crest.

Why do flightstones need to be part of it?

I hadn’t really though about this since flightstones have very rarely been my bottleneck inthe process. But 250 seems reasonably close to the cost of upgrading a piece of of-crafted gear? Is that possibly what they are trying to add to the spark cost?

Previously, those flightstones would be used to upgrade gear. Crafted gear let you skip the flightstone cost entirely so the change primarily affects alts using mostly crafted gear to boost item level.

And just like last season, once you start getting fewer upgrades per week, end up with far more flightstones than one can spend on upgrading gear.

Explorer ranks 1-8 and adventurer rank 1-4 only costs flightstones.

So no, not every upgrade has a crest to it.

LOL Explorer gear… Other than a quest that forces you to upgrade a piece of that gear, did anyone honestly waste flight stones on that junk?

I wish they would bring crafted gear to 489 instead of 486 as a blacksmith I love wearing a bunch of BIS gear that was created by ME but instead I have to wear 486

I did when I updated my speed set with the new world drop boes

My point still stands though. Not every upgrade has a crest to it.

But I already had the 50% discount for flightstones since S3 explorer gear caps at 437 and I had 441 (S2 Hero 5/5) or higher gear
