Space...A New Frontier

Not that I can tell.

Marvel Rivals has some official skins that look like forbidden mods :face_with_peeking_eye:

Malice is a fan favorite.

I’m too big on fantasy. WoW is even too sci-fi for me at times lol.

Unless they want to fund another SW MMO. It gets a pass for space swords and wizards.

Malice is great, but Overwatch definitely does fan service too - just less extreme.

Kind of crazy imo, because for as transparently greedy as Blizzard is the WoW crossover was the perfect time to make billions off a Whitemane Mercy skin.

Either way, whether overwatch is not using fan service at all or not using enough fan-service, the end result is much the same.

Overwatch is losing to Marvel Rivals due to lack of fan-service.

Can people stop spreading this myth that mmos are dying?

In 2023 mmorpgs made over $30 billion.

By market analyst group projections the mmorpg market is for cast to be in the $55 to $60 billion valuation market by 2030.

All I see being made are niche mmo’s. Maybe they’re still making money but the hype is gone and just not there at all like it used to be years ago when every company was trying to dip into the genre. All those back to back to back WoW killers coming up.

It is a MASSIVE risk to make an expensive mmorpg right now.

And I stand behind my prior statement that Blizzard won’t be making another mmorpg on top of WoW, and most especially not a space based one.

Give it time. Overwatch has an almost 9 years long headstart.

and every day, we lose more to Marvel rivals…

If they won’t deliver the Long-lost promise of PVE mode… we need Cheesecake… lot of cheesecake.

They tried with Titan but never finished it. Wow is their cash cow and doubt theyll try anything innovative any time soon

I mean blizzard have killed game have you read up… Play nice?

I sure its good blood boiler how many ā€œgame we could haveā€ but never now.

I mean I’d love to see more mmo’s for sure and a Blizzard one too! It’d be great to see some fun new games show up.

I feel like there’s more to it than that lol

I mean…

I would love it they well Go with FPS Starcraft Tychus have like fps/ 3rd person shooter for world building and more of action base and give more story to Tychus

I remember there was arcade of someone try to make alt history of StarCraft to where Kerrigan eat the bullet, and we have alliance with Terren and Protus fighting greater evil… so yeah

ā€œNo Man’s Warcraftā€?

(If the world engine proves to be capable of handling customizable housing, the next big experiment I would like to see explored is procedurally generated content; having a game mode involving exploring new worlds seems like a good place to sandbox such experimental content away from the rest of the game)

I agree with you fully on the blizzard thing , I’ve said that before on my own posts.

Full disclosure my money post was just found with a simple AI query search using copilot.

I did no other research. But if investors are dropping money if studios are investing etc I guess some think the market is worth it.

I think there’s tons of mmos out there and being made I just 90% of them are hot garbage and have no soul or depth they are just money grabs.

I feel most of web based MMOs (mostly Asian developers which isn’t racist I say that because they are all similar and do more of an anime theme which I don’t like) are mostly not worth the time to create a character.

There’s a couple in development I’m keeping my eye on , my big one I’ve followed for years is Ashes of Creation. Many wow forum posts in the past mock and joke about that game so it’s ok if you do but I think it’s take it’s a bit refreshing.

It’s a game I’d play if only it’s not 456 years before it releases.

But WoW IS a sci-fi MMORPG

Yeah and pantheon just became more visible and seems pretty hard apparently. I think it’s a mostly pvp focused open world mmo with difficult combat requiring group play as well.

No. In fact, their last ā€œspace gameā€ took us to Argus, and technically Outlands. They have a hard enough time with a ground game. SC and SC2 were probably their only successful ventures into a space game.

I’m not talking about a mixture of genres that WoW has become. A pure sci fi game. Don’t know how it’s hard to understand.
