Space magic

Is there any lore I can read about space magic? I.e. like the great dark beyond and taking magic from space and summoning dark stars and such. I thought it was druid but it felt too…. Naturish for me. Any thoughts? Also would love any links! :cloud_with_rain:

I think it’s void magic this is what void elves do

So I guess shadow priest? :cloud_with_rain:

I’m not sure that there’s much tangible lore about it, but the Nightborne have astromancers among them, notably the raid boss Star Augur Etraeus who studies the stars, uses “stellar” magic, and can channel the energies of far off planets.

Hmm so balance druid ish kinda?

Sort of, I guess. Unlike druids, he channels the energies of far off planets to cast fel, void, and frost magic.

This is the description of Star Augus Etraeus in the dungeon journal:

The nightborne astromancer Etraeus has devoted long years of research to scouring the skies of Azeroth, seeking answers to the great mysteries of the universe. His scrying has shown him worlds beyond our ken, and the power of the Nightwell allows him to draw upon the essence of those worlds to amplify his own powers.

Ty appreciate it! Always lookin for new ideas! :cloud_with_rain:

I think it is arcane. Like portal magic primarily seems to use it.

But dark stars could also be shadow magic.

Closest things there are are the Starfall Druid spell and a one that Night Elf priests used to have back in Vanilla.

Star Shards, pew pew!!!

Yeah it is weird how arcane magic relates to constellations. Meanwhile drawing from a single star = solar.

So 1 star = fire, but > 1 star = arcane.

That “single star” tends to be the Sun, which creates the Day which banishes the Stars which are creatures of Night.

The ancient mystics did not consider the Sun to just be “another star”.

The presence of the Sun for instance renders Elune all but powerless as she draws her strength from the Night Sky and the Moon.
