South America/Brazilian Hosted Realms

Is there any remote chance that we are getting servers hosted in Brazil? I know so many people that moved to other games simply due to the fact that they can play with low ping. I mean, even TIBIA (who doesnt even have 20k players online worldwide) has a brazilian server. It is really frustrating to play with 150ms.

Blizzard has a datacenter in Brazil that they use for other Blizzard games that don’t require large populated servers like WoW does for match making. D3 comes to mind, although you can force change that with a command line statement to play the main US match making group.

Until, and unless, there are enough WoW players in the SA region to support grouping and game mechanics alone, you guys are stuck in Chicago.

So basically we are stuck in a loop. We do not have enough players to get our own servers and because we do not have our own servers we do not get more players…oof

Yep, pretty much the chicken vs the egg thing.

I recently heard complaints on Twitter from a South American player about how Blizzard doesn’t value them, I believe.

Yea we have a huge community and there isnt a single game coming out without a SA server. No wonder so many people from SA are leaving WoW. And like I mentioned, even Tibia has a brazilian server. A company sold by almost 70 billion cant afford one?

I’m truly sorry. I really don’t know what to say besides that.

Yes, they can. They HAVE a Brazil Data center for Blizzard games. D3, OW, etc. use it.

WoW does not for population reasons they said.

bump please consider moving brazilian realms off NA servers, the lag and language barrier are too strong

You have an answer, but there can be no movement of servers without growth of the SA playerbase.

It would be a dream coming true: imagine being able to play WoW with sub 90ms and without having to spend extra on a VPN, i would transfer all of my chars out of NA.
