Ain’t nobody got time for that.
Well, we have one other thing.
The fact GDKPs are banned.
You are literally punching yourself in the face right now.
they are? then why am i looking at my LFG window and seeing people spamming LFM GDKP? they are not in-fact banned
Don’t be pedantic.
same for you
how is guy still going? i thought he was grounded
Lmao 100g is 10 dollars lmao…slaps knee simple math rofl in poor exhange rate…easy fix lol…the whole post is crazy.
Point is they do ban waves so all the gold sellers get ripped off when customers demand refunds. Costs them alot to stay in business doing it that way. With AI coming to the forefront it’s only going to get so much worse.
Raw gold from bots non stop pumping into the economy because GDKPs make for a bottomless market for them. Inflation skyrockets while real players have no way to make decent gold because the bots. Leading to classic era as it is now.
GDKP leaders siphoning cut just to sell back to players.
No GDKPs no bottomless RMT farm. Less bots and RMT. If bot couldnt exist, sure GDKP would be dope, but they do exist.
Thank you blizzard. Its about damn time.
Goodbye GDKPs dont let the door hit you on the way out.
banning GDKP may help, it may not. Only time will tell for sure. IMO the only thing that will really move the needle against RMT is ramping up detection methods of finding those players who buy and perma-banning them.
““buy 100 gold ???””“”" Your nuts right?
el oh el msg2short
Another post from the greatest genius of the forums. Gold inflation is actually good for us normal players guys he swears it.
the way this dude keeps going on one might start to think he has a financial stake in gdkps continuing to be a thing
Inflation is caused by two things in WoW, more raw gold source, and more raw gold farmers.
In retail, mobs drop more. That’s going to happen over several expansions naturally. Also from the same things in classic.
In classic, it’s from more players (legitimate and bots), as well as more knowledge (vendor shuffles and optimized raw gold farms). Exclusive to SoD is also pre-60 level cap quests existing.
Original servers couldn’t have nearly as many people as current ones do (hence why sharding has to be done or else you’d see thousands of people in Ashenvale before your computer bricks its GPU). So even legitimately there’s more gold.
Gold sinks were made in retail (high cost cosmetics, higher vendor costs, etc) but deflation also exists in Classic. The repair bill. That’s your main gold dump.
You can deflate the market by making more gold dumps such as some new vendor material costing more, but that wont change that whether a dollar is worth a gold or ten gold, that it is still being sold, and farmed illegitimately.
So, you can cut the source (bots) or cut the incentive for buyers.
GDKPs were a massive incentive. You don’t need to buy gold for a mount at 40, 60 mount maybe or maybe that super awesome boe, but in general there’s little to buy gold for (also to state the obvious you don’t need to, and shouldn’t, buy gold for anything).
Obviously the source should be hit but it’s an arms race. It’s like your antivirus vs malware. If they manage to sell 200$ before getting banned, that’s worth it for them. You have to ban them before they turn enough profit, but without false positives. Example, “ban all sub-18 Rogues in SFK” doesn’t work, how do you know someone isn’t having their friend help them get early gear for maybe lv 19 pvp or just to help out or whatnot? You’re then creating a rule that says you cannot go into SFK on a low Rogue which isn’t fair.
I’m not here to say that Blizzard’s approach is the best. I’m saying that it’s worth trying out, and also let’s just be openly honest that most GDKPs used illegitimately farmed gold.
Hey mate, did you read the OP? I’m not sure what you’re actually commenting about. I’m talking about the source of the gold, not the destination.
I actually post on my character that I’m the most proud of. Scarab lord, Corrupted Ashbringer, etc.
Thanks for the personal attacks though, nice to meet you too!
GDKP organizers absolutely make money off them.
It’s business. Seen a thread or two on Reddit of them quitting because they won’t be able to make gold from GDKPs to sell.
Yep, this policy isn’t very well thought out and triggers many, many questions and threads for feedback. I’m doing my part
Nice contribution. You’re really adding a lot of value to these forums mate.
