Source of delve keys for "pure healer?"

One of our friends recently returned to WoW and we’re all, including her, looking forward to putting her epic healing skills to work in Delves. She mains holy priest, and we helped her get through the thankfully (for her) short campaign without falling victim to the fact that holy priests aren’t known for their open world content prowess, particularly solo. She actually hates the “murder track” of WoW when on her main and has what I think is a reasonable expectation that a dedicated healer should have a path to “unlocking the game” (as the campaign does now) that isn’t so “how much can you solo kill”-centric.

Anyway, opening preamble established, at about hallowfall it hit me in the face that our super healer will need Restored Coffer Keys. That’s when the conversation in our discord got a little frosty as it occured to me that our enthusiasm to get our healer friend into delves took for granted that the rest of us take “doing solo combat content” for granted. Now we’re trying to come up with ways to get our friend 4 keys a week, either on her own power or with help.

So far we’ve come up with:
-Theatre troupe
-The weekly dungeon (not the rep one, the one that’s one of a few options from Faerin)

Aaaaaand that’s it. I’ll admit this was late last night and we were tired and logged off shortly after, but I thought I’d put this to the forums. Pretend you hate solo combat, or don’t want to engage in a fight that takes forever on your own, and don’t want to switch specs from your healing spec. How would you get your keys?

Can the awakening machine be duo’ed? I imagine flying around for wax isn’t very combat intensive.

It’s hard to clock which activities give keys because I get 4 so fast every week that I stop getting them from the sources that give them out, so maybe I’m forgetting something.

World Quests that give Coffer Key Shards, there isn’t that many. World Soul Memories, but I think Delves give the Echoes to even be able to do them.

I think the weeklies give them.

1st four caches you open from any world activity give keys per week, as they say on the item description for each. The Threads pact grants one, Faerin’s worldsoul quest grants one, theater troupe weekly, Awakening the Machine, WQ special assignments.

Running a bountiful and using a key gets you a radiant echo, these are used at world soul memories for a 5 minute event, these pay out keyshards at ~33% meaning 3 memories will get you enough shards for another key.

World quests for keyshards are rare, you’ll only see 1 or 2 a week.

You’re going max out at about 6 keys a week, so plan their use accordingly.

This doesn’t take into account your friend’s issues, this is for everyone. Six is all there is. They’re going to get less if they can’t grind content, but that’s blizzard’s plan.

Another source is the weekly in Hallowfall to light the 4 lesser flames. All you need is 12 radiant shards to complete it. No fighting necessary unless you need to get the shards, though you can find a few on the ground around the farms.

Getting the keys is kinda cringe. I don’t see this content keeping me interested for long, I’m already kinda starting to get bored.

I would try to talk them into going Shadow or something. People confine themselves to one spec, it’s very awkward.

Theater Troupe, the weekly world quest assignments that drop those boxes, the weekly for the spiders that gives the boxes, the weekly for timewalking that gives those boxes, I believe that Hallowfall’s lamplighting world quest gives a box. You can easily hit your four caches without awakening the machine, which is the only one that can’t be done with a partner to my knowledge.

Usually there is one zone that has you complete 3 world quests and then a bonus one. That can be done in a group and I’m fairly certain you can get a coffer key.

this is so easy now I bet someone could do it in a healing spec

Weekly assignment boxes give keys, and so does Spreading the Light, which just requires activating 4 braziers. The box from doing Pact activities in Azj’kahet also gives a key.

At some point your friend is going to need to actually play the game instead of making you guys do it for her.

I don’t doubt it for a second. I assume “pure healer” in this context means not casting smite, though, and eventually you’d need to deal damage to the first wave of robots

You can change specializations so could she use Shadow for open world then use Holy for healing in groups? Shadow is not the best class/spec for open world but it works.

If she’s going to not do any damage by choice she has to accept the fact thay certain doors will remain closed by that choice, and the option to open them remains available. I duo a tank/heals with my wife and generally i help her get keys but if she is determined to solo and cant do it as holy she swaps to shadow for 10 minutes.

And apparently the Oracle tree that Holy has access to also has a talent for more damage. Proof even Blizz doesn’t believe in this “pure healer” thing.

I do it as preservation.

Holy isn’t good dps but it’s doable, I’d planned to main mine and had no issues with the content that gave keys.

They’re going to have to do something that does dps.
