You get the Ardenmoth form during the covenant campaign, and there are like a half dozen ways to get the rest, from rare drops or covenant upgrades to rep with some of the NPCs. I got the tiger form for being friendly with the mushroom NPC who runs the transport network.
Soulshape has saved my butt many a times in raid, and I’m a druid. It’s great in resting areas because even without the blink, it’s faster than cat form. It’s great in torghast because you can blink past those annoying flames on the ground. It’s GREAT when you are getting chased by mobs and my dash is on CD. I friggin love the ability.
That’s assuming you know where they’re crossing the map at. If they do chi torpedo, chi torpedo, flying kick, soul shape, by the time you’ve seen the glowing flag trail, it’s too late.
? You get the moth form and the unicorn form both “organically”. Crane is 1500 anima.
Did you click the mushroom guy? He has a BUNCH, and you get a lot of rep per quest you do for him. That’s how I got the tiger form on my monk =/
I like that a few of them are given organically but others have to be targeted. Even if some are hidden, that’s cool.
As for use, I find it hella useful. I kind of wish I went NF on my DK for the mobility. On a monk it makes be extremely mobile. To the point that in PF, I can solo uncover all of the assassins as they spawn so the whole group doesn’t need to move around. I can maintain my DPS and disarm the bombs on the Manastorms fight knowing I have an extra speedy movement spell.
In SD, being able to get very far away for the severe smash cast is also helpful, takes a burden off of heals for a bit. Also in SD, when we’re chain pulling it’s good to SS to break the chains off those casters. Grabbing orbs for the third boss.
Plenty of excellent uses for it as a clutch movement boost.
Look i just like killin people. Defending flags is borin. Dont let the fact that i’m resto spec fool ya, I just do that so I can keep the bullet soakers up a lil longer.
There are plenty and they are easy to get. Go get them and stop complaining about nothing and being lazy.
It sounds like you have have little to no experience with using the dash. It is excellent at avoiding mechanics and allowing you to get off additional casted abilities before moving. It helps gain distance from melee attackers or position you closer to allies to protect them. I soulshape in front of people to Typhoon-boop away aggro all the time. It’s a short range blink and there are countless situations where that is useful.
You’re comparing it to class defining abilities as if it should be a replacement for them, which it isn’t.
It amuses me that Ardenweald players complain that Soulshape does not have enough forms and that it’s ‘just’ a short teleport, meanwhile I am standing over here basically never pressing Fleshcraft since it’s just a button you sometimes push between pulls and has 0 customization whatsoever and provides no movement at all.
There is irony in calling out a condescending attitude when you made a dramatic thread complaining about an ability and lack of immediately free skins that really just shows how little effort you have put towards using/gaining them.
my monk got it from there. or whatever drops there. wife still doesn’t have it. my alt druid got the hidden bear appearance too randomly when she’s been farming it since legion on multiple toons. rng… /spit
