My thoughts, what about the rest of you Warlocks?
I read the justification behind Blizzard’s decision to nerf the trinket by 15%. They want to make it more viable to use the other trinkets, and give some wiggle room, so that you don’t lose so much DPS by using another trinket.
But, that’s the thing. You are therefore bringing overall Warlock DPS DOWN. You are directly affecting the overall warlock DPS in a negative direction. If you buffed the other trinkets that were improperly designed to compete with the Ruby, then you wouldn’t be affecting the overall DPS of Warlocks. You would be bringing the other trinkets up to par, instead of nerfing.
Do you get what I am saying? It’s not just a nerf to a trinket, it’s a nerf to overall Warlock DPS. By buffing the others, you wouldn’t be IMPROVING Warlock DPS, you’d simply be bringing the other trinkets up to par.
Please, we are finally in a good spot, don’t bring us down.

I think the same things i said on your other thread talking about the exact same thing Soulletting Ruby Nerf - Hear me out Blizz - #15 by Lytrox-stormrage

Ruby felt a little overturned so I understand the nerf to an extent but since the other trink options are moldy hot dog water in quality, it’s not looking good.
Too many gimmicks in other trinkets. I hope they nerf IQD as well, honestly.
We might see melee lock at this rate, running soleahs + the purple thing from the 2nd to last boss that drops a haste zone (can’t think of the name).

I would not say the ruby is overtuned. Trinkets have always been some of the best upgrade you can get. It’s mostly that anything else is DS for lock. I mean i’ve been using mythic+ trinkets pretty much exclusively since the beginning of the xpac. Trinkets in SOTFO don’t look very exciting either.
If they buffed the raid trinkets, Scars of eternal strife, Grim eclipse and Elegy of the First ones to compensate for the ruby nerf it would make sense. but they didn’t.
kind of a weird take IMO
alot of casters used ruby, theyre being brought down too. i don’t really see the issue here in the overall scheme. Grim eclipse got like a 600% buff or some crap - plus it has a haste zone on a 2m CD which lines up nicely with every cooldown besides infernal. i think thatll be a decent alternative - or you just still play ruby if you get one from vault or something.,
I’m going to laugh if Ruby still ends up being preferred. If it isn’t the top, it will be close.

wait Ruby is getting nerf?
and now today’s hotfix has now meme’d most of the raid trinkets
Feels like that forgot some 0’s on those coefficients. At this rate, I’ll need to pvp to get good trinkets for M+ and raid.

Too many people complained about having to farm dungeons for a trinket so instead of something we can run as many times as we want people want a boss we can kill once a week? People need to think through consequences before crying.

i mean the idea behind it is we used the exact same trinket for the entirety of the expansion, never one from the new shiny raid content - always the same thing from TOP. on top of that a dungeon with 11 items on the loot table. it got REALLY stale trying to farm 20-30 TOPs for a trinket. I’m pretty sure i killed mythic denny and had my 233 staff before i ever saw a ruby
This is why I pray to Ion before every run. Bonus points if you speak it as I-on.
When it drops, say “Thank you, Based God”. And RNG will bless you.
Ruby is still pretty good, might even still be BiS.
Changeling is a low-key decent option too.
oh changeling is high key solid as a secondary trinket forsure
I don’t see many casters or Locks fussing over it as much. Its normally Ruby and then the Ooze one or some such.
I feel Changeling is just as dope as the Ruby, maybe even more so now.
i mean changeling for aff or destro is great - ooze is demo specific
