Do Pallies have to include the number of times they cheated death with a timely bubble+hearth? Is that generally frowned upon in the discord like “DCing” in a Madden game just before you take the L?

The Hardcore addon does not allow this (It invalidates your run) but we aren’t using the addon. So for us, if you want to save your bubbles for hearthing and quest once an hour, you do you

Bubble hearth is no more a cheat than a hunters feign death or a mages frost nova.
Feign and Nova (And nova doesn’t help against ranged) can both be resisted. I still do think bubble-hearth is fine, takes a while to get to the level where its long enough, anyway
The open world in Vanilla is ridiculously easy to make lvl 60 in without dying, assuming you aren’t disconnected during play. You can even pull multiples & not break a sweat if you are playing your class halfway decent, or orange mobs for that matter.

You 100% have not attempted it. Our Hardcore players so far have switched to SOI because the rules were too much and theyre still dying. It’s a lot of hours to not get 1 unlucky spawn on you.
I would agree. I think it’s fair to say that hardcore (or SoI) isn’t equal in difficulty for each class. I would expect a druid to be much easier than a rogue, and for a rogue to be much easier than a warrior, for example. Paladins get a once per hour freebie with bubble-hearth and I think that’s just part of the class choice when it comes to undertaking this kind of thing.
If people see paladin as easy-mode for hardcore, I think that’s fine, but it doesn’t really invalidate the achievement. It just means that if you want to go further, you can try medium and hard mode next! 
I love soul of iron, there’s a sadistic joy I get when I see someone running around with it on a pvp server.
