This is a good change if true.
Soul Link too strong to balance Warlock tank properly with other tanks.
Other tanks have shields.
Surely not, nobody even uses it. Now that dual spec is a thing and we can, they gut it? Lame
Eh… SL is just a 30% health buff that can go away if healers aren’t keeping your pet up.
And Warlock still have more armor with Metamorphosis to make up for that.
In fact, it’s possible for Warlock to get the armor hard cap in this phase.
? And other tanks have dire bear form, parry, dodge, shields, plate armor, etc.

soul link/haunt/mc still secretly the best pvp and dueling build in the game.
Warlocks have Plate-level Armor, stamina scaling, and passive damage reductions already. You don’t need a shield and you don’t need Soul Link.
That passive reduction is soul link, which isn’t really passive it requires the pet to be healed.
Aren’t they getting something that’s passive DR that’s not Soul Link? Immolation Aura I think?
Nobody needs to keep your pet up if they are using voidwalker.
I feel like nothing dies in that spec, will dots critting help any? Where is the kill potential?
Pro tip, voidwalkers still have HP and can die.
Things don’t die immediately, and if you are looking for a battleground blaster you might want to try another spec.
But I guarantee you, you will win every 1v1 (sans against ret paladins and currently op shaman because their op.) I can easily kill rogues, hunters, warriors (lol), mages, druids, priests (as long as i have spellstone), and other non SL warlocks.
It does seem pretty crazy, since soul link warlock tanks have basically no representation and it’s not even that strong compared to shaman’s baseline kit. Seems like some of the devs have weird bones to pick with the last class who ganked their shaman alt.
Pro tip: voidwalkers have substantially more health and don’t die in any gnomer fights with no heals. You also have a free resummon if a ST fight is long enough for it to maybe die.

Rogues and Druids have Shields?
We have no stamina scaling, no avoidance without a rune that reduces threat, and no passive damage reductions beyond armor lol
Druids have big armor, big stam, and big dodge… Rogues are unhittable
