Ill stick to demoniac for demo. These hero are strange though.
Should be awesome for both of tbe specs created under but doesnt seem like thats the case. Im really hoping they dont go the starving broke animations on these.
I hope they add more visiuals to soul harvester cause right now its basically just the little demon that pops out for 2 of the talents and other then that everything else is just a passive buff or dot on the target⌠so more Weak Auras to track.
Diabolost visually won for sure it looks awesome and makes the other hero talent tree feel like an after thought.
I really do not hope that one talent for soul harvest dark pact doesnt mean a nerf to current dark pact in for all warlocks in general.
I also dont like that one imp node on the far right seems like a copy paste from bloodbound imps. Gotta love seeing remove talents going into an expansions new features hero trees.
Wheres the crazy new ideas. Where the instsnt spells procs to current abilities / cast while moving modernzations for casters combat.
The Demon that pops up looks cool, but itâs really underwhelming compared to Diabolist.
Honestly I wish it did more visually. It seems from the video nightfall proc is bugged and not working so maybe Nightfall + Drain Soul got a visual upgrade which would be nice and a welcomed change.
They nailed Diabolist in terms of visuals, but Soul Harvester definitely needs more oomph and flare.
The demonic core proc and demon bolt for demo from that same talent is just the same demon poping out and casitng the ability instead of your character. No real change. You can see it in the same video later.
I did see, for demo it looked like two animations, like the hand in air and a more direct cast when using Demon Bolt.
Itâs subtle, this is early on perhaps more visual improvements are coming. Like compared to other hero specs Soul Harvester is visually underwhelming currently.
I do like that really our playstyle is the same, I was just hoping for more dazzle to the same play style.
I think its going to change the playstyle more then most would think pretty sure it makes rapture the default 2-5 target aoe spell and seed is more just for applying corruption.
what im hoping is that between the GCD increases spent on bonus raptures outside of rapture windows and the increased drain soul GCDs with nightfall procs going up with haunt triggering it and increased corruption tick rate 25% .
it pushes SL out of being the play cause man I dont want to see rotations with that being manually spread while trying to get all these proc casts.
This seems likely, or at least a far less punishing choice, considering Soul Harvesterâs main rapture bonus doesnât depend on number of dots on target.
yeah im really feeling like SL and darkglare arent mentioned or used with intent in the new hero talents.
and hoping to see them both kinda go at this point.
Ok literally after a whole day of watching Warlock Alpha videos/streams, and even seeing you in Kalamaziâs Stream, which was a nice surprise, I admit you are completely right.
Siphon Life really doesnât fit now really moving forward into The War Within if left as is, More so for Soul Harvester then Hellcaller, I still can see some value if Vile Taint did apply it, but manually casting it seems like a horrible chore and not to forget to mention all classes now moving forward with hero talents have a lot of their dps front loaded, theirs no time to set up Siphon Life especially in dungeons.
Darkglare honestly needs a huge overhaul or completely scrapped, maybe this is the opportunity to split Dread Touch and Doom Blossom when our talent trees get adjusted, where one will replace Darkglare, cause Darkglare is really now just a button to press just for the sake of it.
One thing Iâm curious now particularly for Soul Harvester is the AoE rotation, with the insane value and synergy Malefic Rapture brings through the Hero Talents, especially during the Soul Rot window would it now be used primarily in both ST and AoE situations, while SoC more so just for the AoE application of corruption.
For Affliction Hellcaller looks more inline to how Affliction is played now, but with Soul Harvester focusing more so on Nightfall Procs, Drain Soul channeling and Malefic Rapture it does seem to have shifted its gameplay, which I like.
Another thing worth mentioning although I do think things will improve (it is alpha), the added visuals for both Soul Harvester and Hellcaller are so underwhelming compared to Diabolist, Diabolist literally has knocked it out of the park and hit a home run, while the other 2 Hero Specs have a lot needed in terms of the polish Diabolist has received.
Since there is no official feedback thread for it yet, I will post here.
I only have a couple issues with it.
first off, eternal servitude is⌠weird, it just replaces 2 points in the normal tree, and just means âtake this if you like the reduced cooldown, and donât want to have to spend 2 normal talentsâ cause Idk when you would ever need it to not have a cooldown, nor do I want âdemon weavingâ to become some weird meta.
Second off Spirited away needs to make the burning rush talents better, as now since that talents âless damage takenâ is just useless, it should atleast do something, maybe reduce the cooldown?
The visuals for the spec are barely noticable, the demon should be visible for longer, not just a second where it roars then dissapears.
And just like with diablosit, get rid of nether portal working here, it sucks to feel forced to take both nether portal and tyrant because they both work with the tree, tyrant is such a âpartâ of the spec, but also having nether portal forced in feels lame.
So far from an aff perspective, this tree feels like giving me what I wanted (more control over resource generation) in the worst way possible (even more gimmicky procs). There is some reliability in having haunt proc feast of souls, but it is still an ability that is used on CD rather than something you have a choice to use as needed to help maximize uptime. Overall, it makes me feel the same way I do about tormented crescendo and the set bonus it came from, that the devs are trying to fix the problem that aff locks have no control over their resource generation with tuning, ie providing overabundance, rather than letting the player actually interact with the system.
The dot from soul anathema conflicts with the current way aff is played. Burning all your shards in a burst window would result in wasted refreshes unless the dot is rolls like ignite*. An alternative work around would be to cap the number of dots MR looks for and increase its damage per dot to compensate and putting more of the focus on using your shards to maintain the new dot.
Spirited away is ridiculous, I canât even imagine what youâre thinking. Thereâs really no good use case for it, even if it wasnât competing with anything.
Edit: * Another option would be of the dots were allowed to apply multiple times on the same target, which I would expect to get out of hand quickly with MR damage as is, but is still worth mentioning.
I donât have Alpha so not really much I can say about gameplay with the tree but my biggest compliment on the talents is Mantle of the Harvester. I remember seeing a post on reddit of someone suggesting that back when haunt got nerfed to no longer apply a stack of SE. Could just be a coincidence but kudos to Blizzard sifting through all the MR garbage complaints and arguments and taking good feedback.
After seeing both Hellcaller and Soul harvester I think the SL/AC node needs to be removed because its going to be problematic to design around those two talents. Hatefury Rituals was already nerfed by 50% mostly likely because AC made it busted and now SL is just in an awkward place in Soul harvester play.
If blizzard isnât going to let SL be aoe applicable it either needs to be removed or replaced with something like master channeler from SoD and made more of a cd for MR dumps like SR is. Either way if SL is removed it wonât bother me much.
Blizz keeps saying they want less reliance on Malefic Rupture, but this tree is literally just âMalefic Rupture the Hero Talent Treeâ. They could have made it focus more on the whole soul harvesting name/idea and work around Soul Drain more. Not super interesting perhaps, but it would open the door to more potential instead of just âyou get an empowered Malefic Rupture occasionallyâ.
I think it was all the way back in Shadow Lands when they kept swinging at MR damage and making adjustments to it.
But its been forever since aff got any direction as to what its core design is and its direction. I really wish they would do that.
The first tuning pass after Nathria really was unfortunate.
Sometimes I feel like Blizzard just says things to make up reasons to nerf something. Shadow Priest was slapped hard in the same patch Affliction was nerfed with similar reasonings.
Look where spriest is now? 80% of its damage is direct.
yeah I dont know man,
but I think there really gonna have to do something with rapture either focus it down to better cleave 1-4 targets and make it clear what it does or just force it to replace seed all togther.
but the 2 hero talent trees really feel like they want us to be able to choose what we like more cause hell caller was changed to shards spent over rapture. in tooltip and that was for sure with intent to support seed spam and dot damage.
