Soridormi Rep Really Could Use Tuning

I’ve obtained every single reward from Time Rifts (even the ensembles/weapon/etc. I can’t use) apart from a few pieces of the Jinogist set transmogs that I’m still farming now.

You might think “Damn, you must do so many Time Rifts that you’re already Exalted with Soridormi!”

…you’d be wrong.

I’m still 3100 rep from Exalted, and for all intents and purposes, I have no more rewards to earn from Time Rifts, because before I get that 3100 rep, I will obtain enough flakes to get the rest of the Jingoist sets.

And this doesn’t even count the flakes I’ve earned on my alts - all of my transmog was earned on my main - Maizou. My alts still have all their flakes ready to spend.

Listen, I understand the idea behind Soridormi Rep. But it feels like Blizzard can only seem to do one extreme or the other with reps lately. The Furbolg Rep was insanely fast - finishable in 40 minutes. Whereas Soridormi is one of the worst grinds they’ve ever introduced to this game. (As someone with every rep at Exalted in the game still)

As I said, I’m already almost exalted, so this won’t affect me if changes are made. But I’m trying to look at this from a New Player perspective, and how off-putting it would be to see such an insane rep grind.

And for those curious - the game pretty much throws these at you when you have nothing else you can obtain and you use the Encapsulated Destiny:

I’m also real tired of impossible rep or currency grinds being used as soft timegates. Given that I find it hard to believe that at some point around late BFA every calculator at Blizzard was collected and destroyed in a fire, all I can think is that it’s purposeful because they know there would be an even sharper drop-off in participation otherwise.

It’s unbelievable all the great daily quests they added to this patch, but they only award 30 Soridormi rep each.

Devs should let the quests award 500 rep for example so that people can grind over time if they choose instead of spamming rifts.

End the war on daily content, especially when it is mainly for cosmetics.

I obtained every mount, pet and almost all the mogs and I am about 15k away from 5/5 rep. SMH.

Who’s stupid idea was it to have the 4/5 tier require 18k when all the previous tiers only required 10k?

Just one question:

No matter how many Flakes you earn or how much rep you earn , if you want the transmog sets from the actual gear from Shi Everbreeze, you will still need at least 9 Dilated Time Capsules on 4 alts, right?

I am thinking I will need to keep doing rifts on alts every week until 10.1.7 (even after earning all BoA cosmetics) because the Dilated Time Capsules seem to hardly ever drop past your first guaranteed one of the week.

Quick question, does the rep actually count as a rep? Or is it just a “friend” like the cooking/fishing people from previous expansions?

I’m only 2/5 and i may not even bother continuing with it if it’s as bad as you guys are saying lol

Dunno if it counts for the purposes of the rep meta achievement. Most people are probably just doing it for its own achievement.

I don’t mean to rudely sidestep your main point, but is this hyperbole? The furbolg definitely are a farmable, easier rep to grind, but I’ve already done at least 2 hours of dedicated murderfest with the primalists and I’m only around 67 language.

Am I doing it wrong?

Hmmm, my little druid alt is actually further along, i may as well just continue on that one as it needs the gear and can sneak around.

Apparently, cause I was done within 40 minutes on patch day.

I feel you OP. It felt like I was grinding grinding grinding those rifts. By the time I was starting 4/5 I had already got EVERY single item you could buy with flakes. Like every armor transmog for every armor type.

The only thing I am missing now is one leather armor piece and like four weapons you need the tokens to buy. I’ll get those on Tuesday.

I also have like 10 Wolf mounts and 3 Gryphon mounts to give away.

Was there a better way to grind rep? And I wasn’t a pillar sitter, I went HAM every rift event task on my main that I was farming rep on.

Haha yes! I did it as I wanted the bar full on my rep screen. Didn’t care about the title it came with.

In the end we are all sitting on the pillars.

Different way of saying “Git Gud”?

I was originally convinced that if you didn’t partake in the events, then you would miss out on flakes and rep. However on further testing, this turned out to not be the case. You actually get the exact same reward for doing nothing as you do from being active in the events.

So now all you need to watch for is those events that are solo specific to you. But apart from those, you can 99% afk the event and get all the same benefits as those who did all the work. About the only thing you miss out on is a minimal amount of flakes and rep from the individual mobs but they really don’t drop enough to make any meaningful difference.

Kinda stupid but there you have it.

yea i noticed that to after some time the only rep you would miss where the rep from mob kills 1 rep each so if anything that rep should have been more to encourage people

The best place to farm Furlbog rep is from the elites closer to the world boss up in that one area, just mowing everything there down. They drop a lot more items, unless there’s been a nerf.

The early grinders had the advantage that everyone and their mom was there doing the same thing early on - so, yet again, it was geared towards PvE world content being quicker/easier/possible at all for groups instead of solo players.

I imagine that there’s not a lot of other groups there now doing the same that can be tagged along with.

Oh bother. I HAVE been doing it wrong. The humanity. Thank you for this. I’ve been annihilating the normies just south of the Furlborg camp.
