I’m currently practicing healing with some of the popular M+ builds for Mistweaver and noticed that Soothing Mist isn’t typically included. I was curious about the reasoning behind this.
For context, I’m still leveling (currently level 78), but I’ve found Soothing Mist to be a reliable way to deliver quick single-target burst healing. If this talent isn’t part of the build, how are you all handling post-burst single-target damage?
Vivify doesn’t seem to heal enough, and hard-casting it feels like an HPS loss since you’re not throwing out kicks during that time.
Would love to hear your thoughts and advice on how you manage single-target burst healing in M+. Thanks in advance!
I use it and I’m running 13s atm. For 1 talent point it’s worth it to have a fast, powerful, ranged heal even if 90% of the time I’d use something else. I think most people are just copying streamer builds and a lot of them use specific comps that cater to a monk’s strengths/avoid the weaknesses. In PUGs you don’t get optimal scenarios and need a more rounded kit IMO.

It’s typically not worth the time to cast it, which is why most guides won’t recommend it. It’s your $15, play how you want.

You use it with Peer Into Peace for faster env mist ramp on groups. If you’re running that talent that is.
I also run the talent that makes soothing mist Increase healing of RM/env mist to path to rising mist so that plus the the extended duration on soothing mist makes the statue a lot more valuable. I’ve also started to channel soothing mist on people a little longer when a massive DMG hit is incoming for the 6% DR that I used to forget about all the time
Outside of those conditions you probably wouldnt ever use it unless you needed to emergency heal someone just slightly faster upfront .

I play Mistweaver exclusively for Soothing Mist. I tried Fistweaving but missed the green mist beams. If Unison had a better animation, I’d talent into it. My favorite talents are Soothing Mist, Jade Serpent Statue, and Yulon.
I’m IO ~2600 and consistently 2-3 chest dungeons, but I’m not interested in pushing harder content. Im doing ~400K dps if I fish for Rushing Wind Kick resets.
