Even last patch I would see a fistweaver on the other team and just assumed I’d go 0-6 as a Rsham from a math perspective. Ok so this “Healer” is doing 1 million+ dmg a round, while doing the same healing… shouldn’t that like… always win? Giving me serious early SL Prot Pally vibes where they would just get to win for free it felt like.
Pretty unfun and uninteresting to play against. If anyone has advice on how to beat this HeroClass healer let me know, because right now if I see a monk healer on the other team I feel like I would rather just AFK the match and do other things.
Put them in cc chains like ——>hex into fear—-into stun during your teams burst window every dr. Just cc chain them into the ground and then when they come out of cc try and kite them for as long as possible because they don’t really heal if they can’t connect
Fistweaver sucks into long cc chain comps but is completely god tier broken vs comps with limited cc
If your comps doesn’t have much cc then u just try to lure them far away from their port and then delete them in a stun(kinda hard when they can revival in stun tho).
You don’t think ur a little biased?
Gut this and ret might be fine idk
They seem immortal tho
I played 50 games of ret warr rsham and my ret paladin was doing 1/3 of my healing in a lot of games . He was extremely tanky all around
I’m a little biased in the sense that I’ve always believed Ret should be more tanky then warrior/DK as a plate wearing dps healer hybrid. It finally feels like we are living up to that niche for self-sustain.
This version is a lot better then when WoG was extremely busted and made us a permanent offhealer who could constantly top the team with pre-nerf Healing Hands. Right now our team healing is just mediocre with small ticks from FoL every 6 seconds if needed, and small WoGs, both of which do about 40-50k base as a trade off for a losing damage uptime.
I pointed this out to Doors, but right now the burst feels to strong because of the way JV (during stun + crit) + Auto boosted DS from empyrean & ire stacks + Divine Arbitor can all hit at once if you stack it right. They need to remove something from this combo and offer us damage in another area.
Prior PTR versions had a lot higher damage in Blades of Justice + Expurgation which made the Blade of Vengeance talent the go-to build. When they stripped the sustain damage BoJ offered and pushed more damage into finishers (buffs to FV/JV baseline) instead of keeping damage in our main generator & DoT it pushed everyone into this “burst meta build” again where Empyrean + Ire are just flat out BIS.
I would prefer them to remove the choice node of 2 charge BoJ versus 2 HP and make the ability 2 HP baseline again like it was the first month of PTR. The Ret build initially focused more on BoJ resets as the core of the spec, which is easier to tune around. Blades of Vengeance needs to go back to functioning like Blessed Champion where the main target takes full damage (instead of the existing 60% damage nerf when talenting into this) and secondary targets took reduced damage. Ret should be focusing on keeping DoTs rolling with Expurgation being worthwhile again, it was originally doing 30k over its duration instead of a measly 8-9k which was fine because additional applications only reset the DoT and didn’t stack.
The moment they switched up this whole dynamic they had built for Ret it pushed way to much damage into a burst profile again. This was a huge mistake in my opinion and something they shouldn’t of done last minute in the last 2 weeks of the PTR. All of the good work they did during that testing was thrown way when they made these changes to BoJ, and also when they added the proc to Divine Arbiter instead of leaving it as a flat physical modifier that could be tuned around.
Jim caught me off guard by saying he was ready to play an hour sooner than usual, so I hadn’t an opportunity to eat yet. Ate some Italian wedding soup after, though. Lol
