I see so many negative comments towards the game nowadays and it is not hard to find people saying i quit, but the question is… where is every1 going? Which mmorpgs are people moving to, is the mmorpg genre dying with WoW or are people still sticking around regardless of complaints?

Yeah. I tried playing UO and it is fun but it just doesn’t capture my interest unlike WoW which always has.

Somebody’s gonna figure out, either soon or in a few years, how to build a game that combines minecraft/factoria building with wow type rpg’s - and machine learning advances with vr… and release something that’s gonna make a tonnamoney.

I played overwatch for a year… lasted only a year before i couldn’t stand the game anymore. Now I’m back to wow.

Yeah, I played in a few of those creepy outdoor settings and jumpscare whatnots. VR isn’t quite there yet, imho. Imho it needs still twice the resolution, better handling of the optics for people with glasses/etc, and has to lose the cables.
How machine learning gets applied directly to future gameplay mechanics, that’s something that’s just beyond me at the moment to try and predict.

Most people don’t say where they’re going because it will give people here ammunition to defend WoW with. I’ll take the plunge though.
Final Fantasy 14 and ESO are the top 2 right now. If you like PvP there’s also Black Desert. Can’t vouch for it myself, though. LotRO is better at being a MMORPG than WoW these days as well.
There’s some exciting releases this year in general, and not just MMOs.

Lets face it, where you gonna find quality entertainment like WoW? Do the same repetitious raids over and over and over and get the same gear with higher numbers…

Well I suspect that all those folks who have found their accounts suspended for the sin of wanting to avoid some of the ‘joys’ of the current levelling experience are off trying out other games. Probably Final Fantasy or ESO.

I went back to console.
Fired up the free weekend to catch up on the war campaign and unlock Zandalar and I lost interest 10 min and forced myself to complete it.

I am not going anywhere, for now. But I am getting jaded with the game, I am not going to lie. I have just been spending time playing Division 2 instead. Having fun with the guild over there, logging in to do only raid and emissaries for the most part at the moment.
lol yeah I really enjoy ESO but there is something about WoW that just makes me feel happy and always miss it.
Is that what love feels like?
