Unless I am mistaken you don’t get honor for killing people significantly lower level than you or if you do, you get much less honor. The fact is that right now I have no incentive to kill any players regardless of level, so if I am going to kill people I may as well choose the easier players that are numerous rather than try to spend tons of time hunting the more difficult players who are often in groups and far more rare to find.
If I am given an incentive to kill higher level players I probably would, but since I do not have any then why bother when it eats significantly more time and attention while still frequently being one sided and frustrating with tons more downtime and travel involved.
Because I’m sure three weeks of raiding mc and onyx and he has every single item he needed and no longer needs to farm them. I mean they drop 3 items per boss and there’s only 40 players in a raid after all.

As long as they are green to you honor is received. Idk if its 8-9 levels. But even then… you are missing the point. People already killing each other when there’s not in game reward other than intangible reasons. But once people receive a tangible reward there will be more reason for players to fight at all levels. So STV, HIllsbrad, etc. etc. are going to be even bloodier than they are now. Making leveling up even harder. But for people in their 50s not only will they be attacked by other 50s but also 60s. People in their 40s will be attacked by other 40s and people in their 50s. Down & down. So its not about 60s camping 20s. But 20 being camped by 30s and every 20 that sees them low while they killing mobs. Same on & on up the level ladder.
I’d say release phase 2 by the end of October at the latest and make sure BwL is out the week after Thanksgiving. Also if you can give BwL temporary buffs until phase 5 that would go a long way in making it last. The only reason why most people aren’t bored and unsubbing is because it takes a long time to level.
To be fair TBC was not vanilla lol. Drougen makes some points… there not great but… they are points. I also hate seeing BFA avatars on this sub. Its not that all people who post on them don’t know what they talking about but… enough.
Its like when I make a post about ranked in League of legends and then someone comments on an account that’s not ranked. So you ask them wtf up with that. And most the time it’s because they don’t play ranked… so it’s like WELL THEN HOW THE F DO YOU KNOW WHAT I AM TALKING ABOUT THEN? It basically that same feeling here.

I find it hard to believe that 20s will get camped by 30s and the same for any other bracket other than 60s vs 50s since leveling is the main priority.
The reason players are green and not grey is because they can fight back. My friends routinely killed 60’s while in their early 50s as 2 rogues without either even taking damage. The difference between a 60 in non epics and even a 50 is not nearly as large as people seem to believe.
Also shouldn’t it be encouraged for people to actually pvp on a pvp server while leveling rather than the current ignore each other so we can level up in peace? It seems to me that ignoring pvp on a pvp server for efficient leveling is a very “loser who speedruns to 60 without playing the actual game” type of playstyle. You are advocating for trying to avoid a core part of the game on a server that is marked specifically for that purpose.
See I don’t get as anal-retentive as some people choose to do so on these forums. There are a lot of touchy people that get bent and it does not matter which avatar one chooses to post on. When I bother to post a comment, I am posting a comment, not worried how my comment is going to be projected through an avatar. My points and comment would never be changed based on which avatar I choose to post a comment on.
Yes, I know Vanilla was not TBC, but then my comment had zero to do with which part of the game one is playing in at the time. My comment was made in the most general terms of what people have done, regardless of which part of the game they have chosen to play to possess the mentality of ramming through content, then get to the end of that content and whine for more content on their time table. If Blizzard wanted the honor system in place in the initial phase of Classic they would have made it a part of the content. They didn’t and it is part of the next phase of content, which means Drougen was asking for the next phase of content to be released. Drougen chose to deflect and dodge the fact he was doing so.

I believe one of the main deciders of when phase 2 will launch is the number of active players.
Blizzard promised that they would remove layering before phase 2. Doing so while there is a very high number of players could be very problematic. As a result, I think that blizzard must wait for player numbers to drop off before launching phase 2.
Even if we disregard that though, it seems way too early now. I’m 44 and I have been playing a lot I would say. Maybe people are still no where near level 60 and have not even thought about end game dungeons and pre-raid bis. It just is too early right now.
Good point though is that the release of dm will not ruin MC. Since it already is too easy.
Blizzard is going to string this out as long as they can. Catering to the 1% has no advantage in Classic.
