We had one content patch in January, 2020, one content patch in June of 2021, and then we’re probably only going to get one in 2022.
Is this honestly what we’re paying for at this point? We pay a subscription and get one content patch a year? I’m starting to think that the subscription isn’t the greatest value any longer. Especially since they’re not even bothering to fix stuff in-game.
How do they justify only doing one content patch a year for a game with a subscription? This is starting to get a bit ridiculous.

No idea. But there was 8 months between 9.0 and 9.1. Its a bad expansion with slow updates that aren’t even remotely interesting. I’m hoping at this point they’ll put more effort into 10.0.

Remember when we thought that about 9.0?

I was going to say the same thing. Many people were saying that about 9.0, though to be honest, I was quite happy in BFA. I had a ton of alts and lots of fun things to fart around with.

Sooooo… stop paying a sub if you feel like you have nothing to do?

9.2 and 9.2.5 will be next year. That is 2 patches. And 9.1.5 will be the second patch of this year. Also both 9.1 and 9.1.5 were some of the largest patches in WoW history if memory serves me right. It’s really not about the quantity, it is about the quality? Something of that nature.

IRL issues have caused delays. Between lockdowns and lawsuits it’s been a rough couple years, Blizz has been behind on SL for awhile even since last year and trying to catch up. It’s not justifiable or normal, they’ve even said this isn’t what should be expected. But stuff happens and it’s not always their fault, it can’t really be helped. If they could put out the patches faster they would have already.
Next year we don’t know how it’ll play out, but hopefully better. 9.2 probably would be out very early in January or February. Then 9.2.5 and 9.3 later on into spring and summer.
Best we can do is be understanding and hope they do manage to catch up and return to a regular pace. Being impatient isn’t really going to help or speed things up.

I’d rather they start releasing content again to be honest.

Unfortunately 9.1 and 9.1.5 are both lacking in quality and quantity. 9.1.5 removes more than it adds.

I’m sorry a global pandemic inconvenienced you.

Couldn’t agree more. There’s been a lot going on last couple of years.
Well in Blizzard’s defence, they have been dealing with:
a) an investigation
b) a pandemic
c) personnel turnover
d) wasn’t there a walkout in there?
e) a lawsuit
f) a second lawsuit
g) and making changes to old content.
I’d say they kinda have a full plate.

k, well, that’s not happening right now. So the only other option you have if you don’t think you’re money is being well spent is don’t pay a sub.

lol… are you for real? Don’t cut yourself with all that edge.

Well it hasn’t gotten ridiculous yet.
They release an expansion every two years, with 3 major patches in between. That works out to a major patch every 6 months. We’re not even due for the X.2 patch until next month.
.5 patches aren’t major content. OP is talking about major content patches.
And yet we got both quality and quantity back in the day. Both matter. Especially with large content droughts.

You might want to look up where some expansions had more than three. And from the looks of it, this one won’t have more than two. Not to mention, it was 8 months between 9.0 and 9.1. We don’t even have 9.1.5 yet and if 9.2 is due next month, that’s majorly over the time limit, because we’re not going to see 9.2 until spring, most likely.
