Obviously pending tuning but it’s now a 1 charge combo of which the second part hits for 250% AP ( for reference baseline FV is 179% and 198% with Jurisdiction) which then burns for 50% of the damage done.
When you think about it, at “2 charges” it was 4 gcd, it kind of clogged the rotation.
Now it’s truly an improved vanilla CS.
The combo means that its virtually still a CS with 2 charges, only you need to press them back to back each time.
It makes it naturally scale with mastery so Blade of light isn’t required* and it improves the ST potency of Searing Light by giving us a reliable Radiant source of on-hit damage.
If you also take Divine Hammers, the CD on it will be very low, which means we could be able to spam it.
Hmmm, I didn’t even think about it in this light. Man, good observation.
Yeah. Despite the fact of constant HoPo from Crusading Strikes, I think the new and improved Templar Strikes is going to be the go-to spell. That’s just too much power to give up, especially for a builder.
And like Benmarch mentioned, this doesn’t even consider the burn from the second hit and the interactions of certain Talents like Burn to Ash, Penitence and Burning Crusade.
templar strikes is going to be nerfed. it isnt intended for it to do that much damage. enjoy it while you can
keep in mind that ts is only useful when its broken in a way that contradicts every other design of ret. if its not at this level of broken ness then it’ll still have the same issue of “lack of gcds to press it”
theyre not gonna make ts stronger than blade of justice due to our art of war engine, theyre not gonna make ts stronger than judgement due to judgement rotational importance, theyre not gonna make ts stronger than our execute during wings, ultimately ts is just a filler button and its very clearly gonna remain that way. also builders should never be stronger than spenders especially one with a short cd like ts. dont gaslight yourselves into thinking this is intended
Templar Strike for me got hit hard with the meat mallet. Seems the old pillars have returned to claim that ret has to be the slow auto attacker with attacks in between. Blizz can’t let go of them.
going from 2 seconds to 8 second CD is brutal.
Crusading strikes feels better now. Looks like i’m switching to that on my sunwalker.
