It’s kinda funny that Idris Elba was Macavity in the Cats movie but Knuckles here actually looks more like Macavity
“Macavity’s a ginger cat, he’s very tall and thin” ( Well okay he was taller in Sonic Boom but still )
Also love that’s the voice actress that plays Tails in recent video games. It was cute to see fans just instantly recognize her voice.
I don’t recall ever seeing a story where Tails and Sonic meet and become friends. So that’ll be refreshing to see.
Oh one more thing. I do like that Idris is trying to voice act here rather than just do his regular voice. Behind the scenes stuff mentions that he did a lot of homework on Knuckles. I wish more celebs would do that when they’re voice acting. When a celebrity is that motivated to get it right, it really shows. Hence why we all basically simped for Knuckles with just one line of dialogue in the trailer. Just “Yeah okay he can stay”
