here’s the thing, for my birthday, in march, 2020, my mom surprised me, with a brand new, not refurbished gaming laptop, the fps on this computer of mine runs smoother than an elf’s bottom. the only so-called form of “lag” she gets, is like when i’m moving in one direction, and i keep moving, even after i took my finger off the movement keys. the constant moving does stop after i hit the key that’s lagging, again, this form of lags seldom happens, but is rather annoying, any ideas how to fix it?
Hey, Devastator! It sounds like either some input lag or actual connectivity issues might be causing the issues with the movements. I have to check that this isn’t caused by auto run through, are you pressing on the num key or anything that would auto run? Does it stop after pressing the movement keys or mouse?
If it doesn’t seem to be an auto run issue, do you experience the same issues on an alternative connection or VPN, if you can give it a try?

nope, i hardly EVER touch the auto-run key. and yes, it does stop after pressing the movement key of whichever movement i’m stuck on
Thanks for the details, Devastator! It’s just something that I wanted to double check on. The behavior sounds a bit weird like auto-run might be set to another secondary key.
Have you tried resetting the keybindings yet in-game just to test? Were you able to try a VPN or alternative connection to test by chance? This one might be a bit limited, but do you have any extra keyboards an mice lying around or have one you could borrow briefly? Have you tried a different mouse and keyboard just to test?

In most cases when I see this happen, the problem is exclusive to a specific mouse or keyboard. If this is a “Gaming” keyboard please be sure to check the manufacturer website and update any related applications for the device.
If you have any other devices to test with I also recommend doing so. That way you can verify between a device issue and a software issue.
I have also seen other cases where “Sticky Keys” got turned on by accident. Here are instructions on how to check this:
- Type sticky keys into the Windows search bar, it may provide several options but they should all take you to a big menu that says “Keyboard” at the top.
- Locate and disable the slider bar for “Use Sticky keys”
