I’ve seen a few things work
a) go into task manager and kill the processes for both Bnet and the Bnet update agent
b) start Bnet as administrator
c) close Bnet/Agent like in a), but also kill any “WoW Voicy Proxy” processes running
I was having this issue and the Proxy processes was what was causing it to fail.
This fixed it, thank you so much pup! Was hoping to God I didn’t need to reinstall the whole game, thank you thank you thank you!
Thanks, it worked perfectly!
just did this it worked
This worked, thanks.
Others already said it, but I’ll echo it too. I had a problem with trying to download the patch, kept giving the generic error thing. So I closed down bnet and opened up the task manager, for some reason the blizz voice app thing was still running, so I closed that too. Opened up bnet again and the WoW update downloaded just fine and now playing.
You are my freaking hero! Thank you!
Works…Good Job!
Blizzard, this is still an issue. Please fix so I don’t have to kill tasks in order to update your game.
So many quality issues…
It looks like it’s solely the WoW Voice Proxy, I tried ending Agent and Bnet and it still wasn’t working until I ended the WoW Voice Proxy. I also noted that it didn’t show up again when I loaded Bnet and finished the update.
edit
Also, I just noted that this thread is 19 days old, but it was at the top of the forum page… odd.
I also had this problem today, and ending the WoW Voice Proxy in Task Manager worked for me, too. Thanks for the solution.
Just had this exact thing happen to me with the hot fix that just went out. Closing the voice proxy worked but man, I would not have guessed that without coming to the forums first.
Something went wrong alright - my latency went up to around the 230-240 ms range after the last patch whereas I’m normally around 140-150.
