Something is wrong with The War Within

This game is a shell of what it was.

I’m probably a minority, but I would play Shadowlands over before I touched DF again.

and that is saying something. Though, so far, I don’t enjoy TWW either.

The more I type the more I realize the direction the game is going is really something I don’t enjoy at all. this old vanilla player is sad

I’m listening, just wondering… why?

They put too much mustard on my hot dog

Bliz has sold out to E-sports

people will deny that, but it’s been almost proven that they cater to the e-sports nowadays

Is someone working on their college thesis?

Nope, just someone that spent a lot of years dealing with customers and callers throwing adult-sized tantrums. The worst was my time at Department of Labor. The amount of people that were fired for misconduct and demanded unemployment because they paid taxes, not knowing it’s insurance paid by the employers, was staggering.

Yes, the “we don’t actually want to hear what you have to say but we want to pretend to” customer-facing, Blizzard-face-saving approach to game development.

I just want them to fix Arcane Missles. Please please fix Arcane Missles.

I haven’t read the rest yet, but I stopped here because I have been noticing on my hunter that quite often when I am pressing buttons, the ability is just not casting and it takes me a moment to realize it didn’t go through. Then sometimes I don’t even see a castbar come up for my cast but it’s on CD. At first I thought I was just being bad, but it kept happening. So I tried to ask people I know if they are having the same issues and they told me they weren’t (but I am not so sure). Now that I see this I feel validated. I think there is an issue with combat. It feels like there is a misfire somewhere in the system that just isn’t registering all of your key presses 100% of the time.

My only legit complaint is that there is no way to reset crafting talent points ( at least if there is one i havent found it yet) and that i have to clear story line to then go back through the story line on a toon of the new race.
Combat for me feels fine, still leveling though.
Story wise im not impressed, and most of the main story line kakes me wanna fall asleep.

But imo still better than the last 3 xpacs .

I feel just the opposite. To me SL was fun and TWW is fun but DF was blah. I liked Dragon riding and Follower Dungeons but they had nothing to do with the story, they could have been added at any point.

As for the Borrowed Power / Covenant complaint, I can understand it for the top level RWF people who get wiped with 0.48% health left on the Final boss. If they don’t have that one extra button the team coming up behind them might win.

But the vast majority of players have nowhere near that skill level and I just can’t see how one or two borrowed power or covenant buttons could make that much difference to them.

I disagree with basically 100% of what you said.

Dragonflight was bland and dull, i was very unimpressed with basically every aspect and felt blizzard basically side barred the expansion to redo classes. Story was inconsequential, the first raid was busy and overtuned and the following two were underwhelming. The world content was unrewarding and basically everything was too involved or time consuming. Thankfully the poke snap quests were the only to carry over clearly they realized the others were problematic and bland.

M+ is pretty great, theyve been buffing most classes and nerfing the obvious over performers. It will always feel bad to be one of the nerfed classes but an average DK or warrior could 1 button their way to top dps. Every single dungeon in S1 has been nerfed, that is just a factual statement that you somehow got wrong. Please never give unrewarding easy dopamine s3 dragonflight M+ EVER AGAIN.

As far as hero talent go they are the best leveling boost theyve had since wotlk. Just outright the best, its nice that all builds get two and they can be useful to adjust normal talents to adjust viability. Its not as bloated as legion or bfa and isnt forcing another set of loot or boring % additions.

The lag is entirely a you issue, i had some in the first two weeks but now the only lag i ever get is in ovinax fight, that is it. Otherwise im constantly 100+ fps and ms is basically a non issue but i have like 3x you speeds. I am putting your combat complaints here as a “the issue in on your end” literally the only class i havent maxed is druid and ive never experienced anything you are describing. Literally not once.

Delves are so new ill give them a lot of leeway while they figure them out but they arent my favorite. They definitely want you to put way more time into them than they should have desgined it to be. I hope they dial them down a little in how much weekly effort they require since the rewards are meh.

The communication has been much better than im used to. No real talks about some of the straggler classes they havent fixed after shadowland cough Priest cough. But theyve been very focused on 20th annniversary and we’re getting daily blue posts about tuning and they live tuning on mythic palace during RWF was rop notch and made for some very enjoyable content.

Overall TWW is looking like a top tier expansion, and could possibly be the the best if they keep it up over the coming seasons.

Think the big issue is Delves feel bad. A lot of that is covered up by over rewarding them, but they’re doing the typical over incentivizing of the new content until you hate it. But between Torghast, Horrific Visions, and delves these play in the most monotonous and flat way.

M+… Well they cranked the mechanics and visual overload knobs to 10 in Shadowlands, 11 in dragonflight, and I think they broke the knobs off trying to get them to 12 this time around. Still playable, just gets to a more annoying experience a lot sooner in the progression.

World quest stuff seem pretty good actually. Besides the 20 wave talking to the machine thing. Could maybe use a little more variety from week to week.

Normal raiding has been super easy up to the last two bosses. The mechanics around the webbed trip lines could be a little more forgiving. Little faster walking, less likely to break.

Update: I reached out to some title players and some other friends, and the consensus with them is there is some kind of latency issue or something that is causing issues in combat.

Been feeling that intermittently.

that’s just unilaterally untrue. Have you ever worked retail or customer service?

customers, by and large, are the biggest group of entitled, uneducated spoiled children ever.

You can feel a certain way. You can think something is bad or whatever. You’re entitled to your opinion. But that statement is just false.

This is the kind of customer service thought that destroys companies.

The customer IS always right about one subject: whether the customer is happy about the product. The phrase about customers being right applies to that and that only, since the customer is not an expert in the design or manufacture of every product that the customer uses - that’s why they buy things rather than make their own - but as to whether they are happy with the product, that is something where their opinion is unassailable.

In this case, there are a lot of things right with TWW but also some glaring issues that people simply cannot be wrong about because they are expressing their own experiences.

Ion, of course, long ago rejected this, telling a national magazine that he designs the game for himself, not customers.

I feel great, enjoying the game more than I have in a decade at least.

feels good to me and I play at least a half dozen classes regularly.

Not my content. I been over mob hallways for about that same decade. Did one season in Legion and one in DF to give it a fair shake and I did not enjoy.

They feel fine to me. They are world quests, feel like world quests.

Might be something there with those that have no real choice, or feel like they don’t.

They seem fine. hHopefully they will get better over time as they learn what works and what doesn’t.

Complaints about Blizz communication are infinite, yet mostly overblown. I see tuning notes for what’s coming at reset every week.
