Someone who works in server tech said they thought that Blizzard is downgrading their servers to save a few pennies here and there.
A litany of persistent bugs in multiple classes that have reappeared multiple times or havenât been fixed since Shadowlands almost confirms this.
Rogues have been reporting ever-worsening bugs with the class for SIX MONTHS now. Stealth and key abilities are literally not functioning or breaking constantly.
Yeah, something tells me this team is in way over their head right now, or just has so much to fix that they canât keep up. This expansion, at minimum, probably should have been delayed to fix these things instead of trying to panic fix them in live environments. Most of the bugs reported with classes in PTR went entirely ignored until the last 2 or 3 weeks.
Yeah, just in general.
An issue compounding this problem is that their class balancing this expansion so far is wildly stupid. I am not afraid to express that. Itâs genuinely dumb. Outlaw was nerfed before tier sets were factored in on 1 week of data. They are literally reverting those nerfs on Tuesday because they donât understand the math behind their own balancing.
Fury has seen, what, 3 consecutive nerfs down to the bottom of the DPS charts over two weeks of data, and they werenât insanely ahead after the first one.
No math is being done here. It seems like they are literally just waiting on Warcraftlogs and internal damage data to make reflexive and instant changes with numbers entirely thrown out as if going âThat sounds like itâs fine.â If they were doing the math, one of the devs for Rogues wouldnât have been asking in the class Discord why a specific talent loadout requires a slightly different stat weight.
They donât even know what they want, letâs be honest. They spent over half the PTR going âwe hear you, letâs make dungeons difficult and remove affixesâ.
And then last minute added a ton of alternative affixes that no one asked for and layered Fort and Tyrannical together.
They reworked Afflicted into an affix no one asked for, and this weekâs affix shows that they just do not play test these or listen to feedback.
This weekâs affix quite literally bricks keys that were easily doable last week. But, you know, affixes werenât supposed to make-or-break keys, the dungeons were.
No, no. I totally love my terrible damage bonus with half a new animation and being forced to take a talent that has been universally hated for nearly a decade now. And my only other option is gambling, so my damage could be tank damage or super high and itâs entirely out of my control.
Yeah, some of these hero trees are an actual joke. Once again, ignored feedback from PTR.
I completed everything on an 11 finally and can confidently say that I am sick of doing these after seeing how broken they can get as far as actual interactions go. Enemies ignoring aggro tables, some doing 3-4 times more damage than other delves, some delves one shotting me and pulling 5 adds in others.
I want to like this content, I sort of enjoyed Torghast at times. But these are so poorly balanced and Brann is wildly infuriating to the point of wishing he just didnât exist.
Itâs been non-existent to a point of being unacceptable. The whole guild bank debacle was a great example of this. âOh, you lost 2 million gold in mats? Sucksâ.
Yeah, I understand that specifically wasnât something fixable as someone royally messed up and logs just donât exist for the items now. But the fact it happened in the first place is just ridiculously unacceptable. And, adding in the fact they are doing a litany of stealth-patches with zero notes to things like consumables and delves means at any point, something could just feel different and youâd never know.
And, the imbalance in the class attention is starting to actually make me angry now.
Priests, Rogues, and Druids are getting ghosted so hard by the devs right now, itâs not even funny.
Watching a month of patch notes go by, and seeing bug fixes for Mage and Paladin in most of them but only a flat nerf to our damage on a reflexive decision is actually infuriating. Plus, the lack of attention even in the 11.0.5 PTR.
I donât know whatâs going on in that team, but this amount of uneven attention when things are needing addressed is just ridiculous. I donât even care if half of it is fixed, just acknowledge it is an issue and that it will get looked at. Thatâs quite literally all we are asking for at this point.
Odd, Iâm really liking this expansion. Iâm not going to type a book, but as someone who hated toxic m+, this expansion is gold. Just my 2 cents
Because Delves are considered world content. How it tracks is fine.
My motivation to play the game has fallen since Wrath days (though I am playing Classic Wrath and now cataclysm. Just waiting for Firelands). The game isnât made for the old crowd anymore. Seems to be made for esports and journalists. No one else. They keep following Fortnite, League of Legends, and the other âmainstream games.â Instead of making new games that copy those, they just take traits from those to ruin this game instead, turning it into something it is not.
Iâve been thinking about this a lot and I think this point needs to be highlighted. Borrowed power actually hid the terrible scaling issues in the game.
At 70, youâre much stronger than you are at 79. Now this has been the case for a long time. It was really obvious in Remix. But I think the borrowed power systems actually made this less obvious. DF didnât have a borrowed power system so itâs not clear to me why we didnât feel this power fall off. Whatever the case, it feels awful in TWW.
I think a big part of it is the zones in TWW are bad, in large part because theyâre underground (Isle of Dorn notwithstanding). Theyâre also smaller for some reason. Iâm pretty sure you could fit all the underground zones in the Azure Span. Or itâs not far off.
I mean Skyriding speed is lower in TWW because the zones are smaller.
I agree. Everything feels like it takes too long. It feels bad. Too many things will two shot you. The scaling is just off in so many places.
Part of the issue here is that the WoW engine is showing its age. Example: if you play on high latency and try and loot something, itâs clear that looting each item (on auto loot) does a round-trip to the server. This is almost unplayable at 100ms+. At some point they shouldâve added "batchingâ operations to do things like âloot allâ in a single round trip.
Also, there are longstanding bugs going back years that are just huge QoL problems, like the dreaded âTransfer aborted: instance not foundâ. When the loading bar doesnât start filling immediately I know this is going to happen. Yet I have to wait 60-90 seconds (whatever the timeout is) for it to fail before I can try again. This is obviously outdated and buggy tech. The game should be able to detect and correct this much quicker.
Plus, you know, fix the darn bugs.
This one confuses me too because I agree: WQs are in the worst place theyâve been in years. I think the last 4 expansions all had better WQs, even the stupid turtle puzzles in BFA. Oh apart from the Callings in SL that were terrible because you had to go to your covenant to pick them up.
Iâm biased on this because my Hero talents, as a BM Hunter, are terrible, arguably the worst for any spec, so much so that thereâs a rework of Dark Ranger already in the works but we have to wait for 11.0.5 for it.
But I really donât like having this extra tree. Whatâs going to happen in Midnight when (I assume) the level cap goes to 90 (or whatever it is in the squish)?
The talent system just immediately breaks as soon as the level cap is raised and thatâs a problem.
10.2 will go down as one of the greatest major patches in WoWâs history IMHO and no, Iâm not kidding. Emerald Dream was a really good open world zone with a nice balance of effort vs progression. Events in previous patches remained relevant. The Last Hurrah selection bug in S4 (that never got fixed) was annoying.
And MoP Remix was amazing, so much so that I still miss it and Iâm almost in the Remix waiting room for 11.2 now. Even the prepatch event was decent once they fixed it so it wasnât once per hour.
Itâs hard to believe it fell off so hard with TWW, at least for me.
I, too, have unsubscribed. I had 6 month subs so Iâve got a couple of months left, which is enough time to play the anniversary event (11.0.5). Iâm actually looking forward to that. Nothing else really interests me in this major patch however.
Buddy, Iâve read these forums since 2009. I can assure you that most customers arenât worth listening to.
I actually think there was more choice in BFA, you could do so much more, the real downside of BFA is that obtaining loot is all rng
Not the worst outcome.
Many people playing WoW have no business in an MMORPG, Iâve said it for years. Look at these forums, there are a ton of âTimmyâsâ that need to move on to a different genre of game. Theyâve all but taken the soul out of this one.
I feel like OP just wanted to complain and this is the result of that. His first complaint is about his own hardware issue that heâs blaming on Blizzard, and then a bunch of âI donât understand how to play this feature so itâs wrong.â
This thread goes hard, and I agree with everything that the OP said.
the customer is always right because they have the money. NO money no business.
I need to comment here because I have not experienced any of this.
You know when something isnât working when I swap to MM. I havenât played MM for years but BM feels so damned trashed its making me not want to play the class I have loved most for 15 years.
Good grief. Most people playing WoW are the only reason WoW exists in the first place.
Get your head on straight.
I play 4 characters in TWW and Iâm in 4 different medium sized guild. All 4 of those guild were really active until last week. Those 4 guilds with around 25-30 people always online are now completely dead, itâs good if I see 3-4 people online at anytime. Never in my history of WoW has an expansion being this dead that early. Letâs not talk about my friend list, usually thereâs like 10+ people always online running keys/raiding, now itâs good if thereâs 3 people playing.
Probably a lot of factor are contributing to this exodus of players, but itâs not looking good if weâre stuck in this underground half-baked expansion for the next 1.5 years minimum.
Anyway, back playing WoW Classic hardcore. A true game
They been using the same formula since legion, now just without the extra thing you need grind for burrowed power. And the expansion just seem bland and boring, the new raid look awfulâŚ
Going to parrot this as well
Most of the reasons for me for seeing people online for my main guild is that they are levelling up new characters.
Iâm already experiencing grind burnout. Doing things like Awakening the Machine, Theater Troup, etc over and over is even now starting to get tedious. I donât know what the answer is, I donât even know if its all necessarily bad. But much of it is designed for single person play; in one way thats good but it does tend to isolate people, to make guilds and social connections less active.
I dunno what the answer is. I sort of hoped Blizzard would.
I just find it tracking world quests to be pointless, double checked and it does seem to include world content so I guess world raid bosses but still world quests shouldnât be included.
