Something is wrong with The War Within

I agree. Their “hero talents” are just generic talent tree addons you get every expansion disguised as something new and different. The stat bloat is insane… numbers almost don’t mean anything anymore. Gameplay has been reduced to "do I have enough healing/stamina to survive AOEing this mob down? Delves are fine for the folks that need some solo content… but so much focus is put on them right now and they are honestly so friggin boring… giving a mob 500000% more health doesn’t balance it.

The game just doesn’t offer anything outside of a grind for bigger numbers to me, and im kinda over it at this point. I want to like it, but it’s just to far gone I think. The old vibe is no more, the bots rule the economy, and I have to put WAY to much time and effort into really un-satisfying gameplay loops.

Except we HAVE received new abilities this expansion, and we’ll get to keep them, and the devs have already said they’re going to expand on them next expansion.

We’ve already experienced having the same set of abilities, expansion after expansion. From MoP to the end of Shadowlands, we gained no power. It was ALL borrowed.

I want the same thing I wanted when I was a kid and TBC came out.

More classes. More specs. More races. More zones.

Didn’t need my favorite class being reworked every expansion.

He’s right. When the customer say’s they don’t like something they can’t be wrong, because it’s their opinion.

But their solutions aren’t always good.

IDK, I was expecting a “living on the edge” parody

Somethings wrong with the war within
Takes everything you got
time gated and all that stuff
keeps you from doing a whole lot.

something like that.

I have been around since the beginning of TBC, I personally think the expansion is great.

I am an avid hater of questing and storyline, I have never cared for it but I have done the campaign multiple times due to the beautiful work of the cinematics and story line.

I actually enjoy the delves in comparison to Torghast due the option of rewards and the option of solo or group play.

M+ needs work but it’s not god awful, just a lot of bugs here and there.

The zones are beautifully done!

The raid is decent but not the best in comparison to past raids.

I could go on but I think the expansion is pretty great for me personally.

End game is probably the worst its ever been that’s why, Raiding is empty and provides easily the worst time vs reward right now, Mythic + is so very overturned and atrocious to group in that no one wants to do it and has a massive healer and tank problem and on top of that the loot is so nerfed its almost not worth the stress and toxicity doing them, so you’re left with Delves which are already extremely boring especially solo and very bland world quests.

…but at the same time, give me a reason to log in. I get my 4 keys for the week, I do my 4 bountiful delves. I do whatever world quests/meta quests are needed. Then I have nothing else to do and no reason to log in on my main. That sucks.

I think the whole “bountiful” thing should be done away with. Normal delves don’t have much of a reason to exist currently. Increase the drop rate of maps, but keep them somewhat rare still. So I will have a reason to continue playing if I want to play, since there will always be a reasonable chance at getting a map to drop.

I think The War Within is both good and bad at the same time. I had the following thoughts about the game since this expansion launch

  • The story is one of the best since Legion, but it was too short
  • Zones look amazing but seem small at the same time
  • Delves are a great addition, but why bother going past a Bountiful Tier 8 when the rewards stop there?
  • Raiding is a weird mix of good fights and bad fights, but everything feels too short and just a DPS race
  • M+ is dead… Thank the gaming gods
  • Dungeons do feel pointless thanks to Delves giving better loot
  • World quests, outside the weekly ones, are boring meter grinds with no changes
  • The item upgrade system is just as bad as it was in Dragonflight
  • Why does the “great vault” still exist?
  • Hero Talents don’t feel Heroic, but more like bonuses on existing talents
  • Alt leveling feels like it is no longer worth it due to the changes that happened a week after the real launch (aka Pay to Win Early Access)
  • The season system is just boring and makes you feel like nothing matters

I could keep going, but my sub will expire tomorrow and I think I will be done for a while. I might come back in a month or two to do the 20th Anniversary event, but then that’ll be it till the game enters its final stages of the expansion.

makes me wonder if op works for ebay

I am still waiting for a bit more spec balancing. I am always in favor of buffing underperformers. I am not worried if every spec was a bit OP.
My Dk just cruises through everything, it’s almost watch Netflix and click.
Lock is a little bit tougher, Sometimes blows everything up, sometimes it feels like i’m hitting a bullet sponge.

My favorite, Balance druid… useless.

Dude you might want to add professions.

FISHING, which everyone has access to. WTF were they thinking?

  1. It goes to 300 skill level. WHY? If it isn’t warband accessible, think of alts and the time wasted.
  2. They have an enchant for perception. I think R3 is 120. THEN they have the weave stuff that OVERWRITES this enchant and doesn’t really do a better job until maybe 1-2 months into the fishing tournament game. (Oh and it doesn’t warn you that you are going to overwrite it…just BAD design. Makes me so angry thinking I was going for the better item.)
  3. They NERFED the fishing treasures. First week was giving 4-6 items. Now it is ALWAYS one item
  4. Fishing pools are too rare, especially the ones people really chase. Too many people are ONLY hitting those pools. The extremely rare stuff should come from your skill/perception and normal pools.
  5. They gave us a hat but you don’t equip like other professional equipment.

Like do they know what they want to do with fishing or what?

And this is just what I feel TWW is like on a macro level. A ton of people working in silos to make a game but not communicating and hence soooo many issues.

Also you should have also mentioned the guild bank bug. We know they hope we will forget. We won’t!

The alts leveling is FAST, especially with the 25% and DMF buff up. You can get 70-80 in a few hours with 35% and knowing the quest chains. Do Warmode and its 45%…even faster.

I honestly am bored now with all the alts I’ve made as I realize I can’t dedicate time to gearing them or doing their professions.

What you’re describing is a sense of accomplishment, not a reward. You can do harder content ad infinitum via the endlessly scaling m+ system for said sense of accomplishment.

Yay another one of these posts. You could of summed it up with

“Content too hard, me no like. Make change now”.

Here’s the truth. It doesn’t matter how good or bad this expansion was you, and those like you, would still be here crying on the forums with the same exact post. Go touch some grass. The games fine the way it is.

The first part is laughably incorrect.
The second part is correct, which makes the first part even funnier

I can see the logic behind the first part from a company’s perspective. What I worry about is a customer falsely interpreting this statement and getting an undeserved ego boost :joy:

It can be both, it is not rewarding for me if I didn’t earn it through proper challenge.

I agree with all your points. With TWW, I find myself with time to play WoW, then login, stare at my various character choices for a bit, then just log off as the thought of playing doesn’t seem fun.

I suspect we’re just seeing capitalism at work. To maximize shareholder profit (a publicly traded corporation’s sole duty), they must show more profit every quarter. To do this they must sell more, sell for a higher margin, or spend less to deliver their product. With this nasty inflation, raising prices would be risky to say the least, and I’m guessing store purchases have slowed as well - that leaves only one way to increase profits - reduce costs. My guess is this persistent outdoor world lag (through all of DF, and now TWW) is due to Blizz not replacing hardware to save money (increase profits), and all these bugs, repeated extended downtimes are the result of less experienced (cheaper) devs. What’s really worrying is that they have to make even more profit every quarter, so it’s likely only going to get worse.

There are so many things to disagree with. While i wish i had the time to go point by point, ill pick 2 glaring ones.

Blizzard communication- IMO they have been on top of alot of the needed tuning, making near daily adjustments as needed. Idk how you call that bad communication. If you want communication read the blue post. What are you expecting daily news conferences?

M+ FEELING AWFUL - Yes some dungeons needed tweaks which we have gotten, does that mean more arent need? No, but thry also should ne knee-jerk moves. The general state of M+ lies 80% w the commnity. The M+ community and attitude and lack of mechanic understanding and unwillingness to stick keys out after 1 wipe is causing the ‘awful’ feeling.

Everyone is entitled to an opinion i just feel like every one of your takes is bad. And thats coming from someone who agrees w you regarding SL.

I play on dead servers and I’ve noticed input lag. Was most noticeable in delves where I would hit an ability and it would either fire late or not go off at all. Super annoying when you really need to interrupt casts.
