14 people alliance and horde in felwood. In 2 hours I have found 2 plaguebloom spawns. Nothing in the last 45 minutes. No dreamfoil, mss, or gromsblood. Went to winterspring. 15 total in the zone. Nothing at all. No icecap, no mss, no lotus, no veins of any type. This is a mathematical impossibility. What in the hacker is going on here? Why is this not being addressed?
I’m typically skeptical of posts like this, but it’s honestly the same even on my medium pop server. I can reliably farm UCG in the early hours, but after that and in any other zone it’s nothing despite there only being 5-10 people in the zone. I’ve given up on it and just farm SM now and sell GSPPs for income.
Can you show your math numbers for review?
There’s what? 500 icecap spawns in winterspring? Respawn rate is 5m. Lets say theres 100 up at a time max. It would take 8 minutes of picking time to pick them all. This is not counting the mss, lotus, and the time mining ALL the veins. It is impossible for 15 people to literally strip an entire zone bare. I have ran the zone in multiple patterns and never see another person. It also doesn’t account for people questing in the zone and not farming. There is NO way that many people are legit stripping a zone.
Further evidence… Major mana pots are 3g a stack. Why would anyone legit go out of their way for icecap?
Do a /who. Make a target macro for a character you think is a bot. Turn on all nameplates. Sit at a spawn point for an herb or two. Spam macro.
Let us know if the herb disappears.
But how could this be? People on the forums have told me that bots aren’t real or that they’re no big deal.
By the way, decided to level skinning on one of my 60s. Going through the barrens, shimmering flats, and tanaris it was nothing but troll hunter bots as far as the eye could see. It feels like they used to at least try to be a little more low key, but now they DGAF.
There is around 137 icecap spawns in Winterspring. (Counted the locations off a map, could be more or less. I double counted a few because it appeared that some had close enough spawns to overlap on the map).
I can’t find anything confirmed, but I remember a reason for the 10 black lotus spawns correlating to the maximum number of herbs that could be in a zone at one time (I did find a couple threads about it). It was a technical limitation of the time and has since been removed with the retail client support. That may or not matter for your claim of 100 up at a time.
I think you may want to look over your math though… or at least get accurate figures.
Edit: People may go out of their way for icecap for flask materials.
see my other post about this, lol
My take on this is, on low pop servers, you’ll see level 25s in silithus or winterspring. These characters are speed hacking to the nodes and are just throw away, botting toons that go collect and delivery to the main account. This main account then hops servers to sell at a higher server price on a higher pop server.
There are numerous reports of people saying they see low levels in high level zones speed hacking and log out on black lotus nodes where they time them. By doing this, the violation character and account only get banned, while the main account freely profits.
It is really a bad problem on low pop servers. And what’s worse, those low pop servers never see a single black lotus that was picked.
