Something I have noticed

No one wants to take time for others anymore.

I have qued for heroic and mythic dungeons on both Alliance and Horde side.

I use to have high expectations for people which through the years have been lowered to the point that there is very little faith in anyone now. This is the reason why I have become a loner.

Because people expect me to cater to their wants and whims. I use to but the older I got, the more I experienced disappointments.

Why have people become so selfish that they will reject any and all that don’t bow to them?

you want to know why?

because 98% of retail is so ez it doesnt require any help or communication

classic requires socializing to clear content and guess what

people talk and help each other all the time

i talked more in my first rfc in classic than getting to 120 in bfa

Because people have that level of anonymity behind there screens and can portray whatever person they desire to be behind that screen. 9 x outa 10 it’s Johnny tough n*ts or Karen the know it all.

Honestly, 50% of the time all you have to do is ask, “Discord?” And boom you are socializing.

People are douches in general these days. Has very little to do with the game.

retail has actual mechanics, whereas classic doesn’t.

No it doesn’t. if a guild or group cannot clear classic content without communication, especially at this point, then there is an issue. retail requires far more communication due to real mechanics.

That’s a you problem. Find some friends to play with that you can be social with and stop depending on LFR and LFD.

It also has to do with lack of realm community. Before shared realms, people’s actions were recognized and held accountable in their local realms. Now, we are just bodies passing in a game. Not people with history to a realm or accountablity. Sadly this “new age” has tarnished the game play.

That’s a cultural thing.

Parents used to raise children with discipline. The result are people like you and me. Reasonable. Selfless, at least enough to care about this.

But, for quite sometime parents have to work so much, they have no time to educate their children. And when they have time, they do everything the child wants. The result are the people you described on you question. Selfish, rejecting those who don’t treat them as kings/queens…

Another point. Vanilla players didn’t use voice chat as much as they do now. People are still talking in classic, but why type to some random player when you are actively socializing on discord?

That, and people are generally douches.

Then we have these people just solo grinding as mage and hunters.

And spamming dungeons lmao…

classic is the most overrated thing on the planet.

To be fair while I absolutely empathize, you have to realize that in higher end gameplay, you must forgo the “I do what I want, you don’t know me” attitude and play to the greater benefit of the group.

I have always tried to help others on both sides. In the years I been playing this game I have got where I enjoy doing for others. I might be one those rarities that isn’t selfish. I don’t let people walk all over me either.

If you see me fishing, feel free to say hello.

Lol yo. Try pulling 3 boars at level 2 in classic. Yo butt is boar poo. I think it’s actually impossible to die in retail while leveling. It’s a snoozefest. I could solo leveling dungeons on my resto Druid with heirlooms. I don’t need to talk to anyone. Ever about anything. If I see a rare in classic you bet your bottom biscuit I gotta find someone to help me out. There’s just a social aspect to classic. I would say it only captured 15% of what vanilla was. But that’s to be expected. Gamers have changed. Obviously look at what a mess retail is.

Sure but let’s see 5 well regarded classic players hop in a mythic 25 dungeon and see if they can kill a mob in the first pull :stuck_out_tongue:

Uhh well we have the internet and YouTube videos for strats so I’m sure it would be really easy. I could say the same with Naxx 40 or onyxia to well renown retail players if they didn’t play vanilla and couldn’t look up a guide? The easy ness is coming from the vast information we can just google search. I would love to see a group of 40 retail people who can’t look up how to do the 4 horseman boss and try to clear it in one go. :stuck_out_tongue:

Not my job to teach you how to play. I’ll help you learn and fix holes but I’m not going to hold your hand the entire way. That’s irritating for me personally.

Oh lord lol retail bosses are drastically more difficult than classic bosses -_-

It is known.

But hey no shade <3
