not sure what OP means…
the fact that there can be holy priests as void elf and shadow priests as lightforged draenei pretty much destroys any future lore restrictions they just went further when you can make DK void elfs or lightforged dk’s.
the sky isnt the limit anymore at some point I guess we will see void elfs DH’s eventually.
They retcon lore all the time to fit the executive needs of the game. I wouldn’t be mad, unless the explanation would be downwright absurd.
I mean, if at least - one - spec makes sense lorewise, then it’s supposedly okay.
But again, I dunno anymore since Death Knights have no spec friendly to a Lightforged Draenei…
considering that void and light can’t actually be together without the host instantly exploding it’s kinda of a debunked thing at this point… like if a holy void priest were casting heal and then entropic proced the priest would die.
writers seems to forget ALOT when they made AR’s arguments or whoever is in charge of what each AR can be was really ignoring the lore in general…
Yeah, but in theory, lorewise, only the shadow spec should work for Void Elves, right? They being able to use holy (and maybe disc) is just for the sake of gameplay.
it would make sense that it should be shadow only but with some bonus perks that only void elves can get… same as lightforged with extra holy perks that they can only get but it doesnt matter now…
when they opened the box with all dk’s for free void/lightforged it kinda doesnt matter I suppose
I think that’s what the OP meant. Blizz should at least come up with a reason why LFD DK work.
and it’s fair, like I said the sky isnt really the limit anymore… lore reasons went to the trashcan in that moment or the moment where both ARs I mention can use primal elements that are fighting forever…
Blizzard should stop giving the Alliance race/class combos as Allied Races.
far too late… they are making allied races now “customizations”
it should have been a draenei customization to be able to go lightforged however for void elfs it’s awkward I would have to find another reason that isnt the one they just gave us.
What Blizz needs are more glyphs or a separate Void Class.
The Void is poorly represented as a spec, when every other type of magic has a whole class behind and some slight representation on other classes. Some even have multiple, like the light.
Doesn’t help that the only Void representation we have looks like a watered down version from the Void NPC users, because these guys really make the Void shine with better attacks since WoD.
Race Glyphs to change color of some spells would be nice. And while a Void Knight would not be lore breaking, a Void Elf Paladin definitely would be. We can represent a Void Knight with Warrior or Death Knight (more Warrior). Just that homogenized into existing classes, like many others are, like Priests.
I would love to see a single glyph for a class/spec passive that changes the look of all the skills of that spec to use a certain theme.
For example:
Glyph of Elune’s Light (Holy Priest) - Changes the appearance of all your spells to look like the soft blue-white light of Elune.
or
Glyph of Soothing Darkness (Holy Priest) - Changes the appearance of all your spells to look like the dark blue-black energy of the void.
Something like that, but for every class and spec, to make all their abilities conform to a specific visual theme would be amazing! My void elf holy priest would use that hypothetical void glyph in a heartbeat!

I see no problem with this, Void Elf Demon Hunters? yes for a variety of lore examples I could point to of why such a thing would explode in seconds, Void Elf shamans? Should be possible, even if they can’t “naturally” commune with elemental spirits (which they should be able to anyways), they can always pull a Gul’dan and just corrupt and enslave the Elementals, we’ve seen tons of examples of Void entities turning Elementals into enslaved minions.
