Just resubbed, bought honor gear, queued for a shuffle and got thrown in a 2.4k lobby with current glads and R1 players.
I haven’t queued on this toon since the first week of WW S1. I shouldn’t have to go 0-6 for 4-5 lobbies in a row before being at a reasonable MMR for a returning player
Stop carrying MMR over from season to season and start 0 CR toons at 1800 mmr or something
MMR is matchmaking data so it gotta carry over a bit to some degree, but yeah, maybe not this much.
What is starter MMR for ppl rn? 2k?
On a fresh char? Roughly 1950 in shuff.
I’ll queue my second brew to check in a bit, then it should be +20 per week (over the course of the week).

It just creates a negative experience for everyone except the opposing healer that gets to go 6-0. I afked out of the game before it even started, why bother, the dps waited the whole queue for nothing.
Honestly, if they just start people at 1800 mmr and do more drastic swings if you start 6-0 ing every lobby it would be better imo
Buddy this is their fix to “help help why is there a r1 glad in my game” so in the end somebody gonna be upset
Had this in DF and you’d get some 2300 mmr guy who was 10-2 and gets his head bonked in
I mean its either what we have now (you get your “real” mmr by losing to people until you start winning) or we go all to pure cr from zero and you win static points per win and lose static points per loss. The second option is more prone to get you “stuck” in mmr zones of winning losing winning losing than what we have now.
Right now you may lose a lot at the start but once you get into your "real range’ your winning streaks are more than enough to push you up again.
Foxxo, would it make you feel better if prot could have a talent to wield a 2h?
Make me feel better
No, but I’d like to have bladestorm and access to the slayer tree I swear it’d be the most fun spec ever.
Also revert the dragon charge change easily one of the silliest ones they’ve made in recent expacs.
I think this is partially the result of having mmr inflation on inactive characters. Imo inflation should only occur for characters that gradually play each week.
A brand new character has ~1950 baseline starting mmr right now, which immediately puts new players into mismatched lobbies where they’re more likely to lose and get discouraged, and old characters that haven’t qued for multiple seasons and may not have any conquest gear are placed into high mmr lobbies with full geared players.

Okay so the thing with this is that everybody gets pushed up

Well no, because EVERYONE starts at 1950 including other new players.

Carry over mmr is pretty bad.
