Today, fisherfriend Sha’leth is available so I spent a good few hours maxing out friendship with her, and then continued fishing for the special fish to buy the special fishing bobber she offers. It was like, a lot of fishing. She stands outside an aquarium tank in Suramar, and you fish out of a school of fish that moves along the surface of the tank. Unlike most schools, which stay put. So not only was it a lot of fishing, but I got my WoW-steps in for the week.
Well I fished up the required currency and returned to Sha’leth to get my bobber and move on with my life (to fish somewhere else) and instead of going to her vendor inventory, I just clicked the option of “Here, take all my hard earned fish!” like the friggin’ goon I am
…and you bet your sweet behind she just took 'em. Even though I am at max friendship. Some friend she is!
Well, that’s when I decided I just needed a lil break so I logged for a bit. Now that I’m home from work I can get that bobber in less than an hour. OOOOOOOH but I was so mad and I had no one to blame but myself which I hate
Please share a stupid story about yourself so that I can feel better about myself. Thanks
One time I spent weeks farming (literally) up the materials to make one of the Jewelcrafting Onyx Panthers and put it on the AH accidentally for 200g, and someone bought it immediately before I could cancel it.
For those who aren’t aware, those cost 200,000g worth of vendor materials to make, on top of all the crafting materials.
At the end of burning crusade, right when they introduced the achievement patch, the guild I was in was doing Hyjal.
We were on our way to the last boss, and I put on a run and looked away from the screen for a moment. When I looked back at the screen I was falling off a cliff. I landed, survived, and the entire raid got the announcement that I had earned “going down.”
Dumbest thing I was back in vanilla. I was spamming trade for a group to finish up my epic paladin charger quest. At the same time I was alt-tabing out posting my resume on job applications.
After awhile I got tired of typing LFG…., so I copied and pasted it forgetting that I was also copy and pasting my resume on different applications. My next LFG spam was my entire resume.
I logged off and was wouldn’t log into that character for a few weeks.
OMG that sucks. I was just beginning the game back then (I stood in a line outside the mall to get WOTLK) and did not have the foresight to keep the sets and to collect them on different characters. Back then I was just a hella dumb warlock that didn’t know ish about ish.
When I first started, I would roll need on items bc there were more green stats. Ppl would nerd rage and called me a ninja looter. I legit wasn’t trying to troll at that point and time. l thought the item was better! Me back then: “The stats are higher. A fury warrior NEEDS Intellect!!”
When I first started I mostly played a warlock but I had a brief stint in TBC playing a druid before my current primary druid. I leveled them up playing in cat form, but I never upgraded my gear at all, and I had like level 1 gray items in some slots, and I had talent points in both balance and feral, and… like, rank 1 spells on my hot bars. When I started learning more and realized what a mess I was I deleted the toon completely out of embarrassment.
In vanilla my friend gave me all the gold I’d need for my epic riding skill, half an hour later I waltzed into the AH and bought that sword from shadow fang keep for 300g. I was a hunter…
When I first started WoW I didn’t really understand the whole server thing. So I kept thinking I was losing my characters when I’d log back on when really I was clicking other servers.
I will say, thanks to the forums I heard about that happening. So thanks to the mistakes of others I was able to take special care and avoid doing that.
