Something as Player wow needs to be Said to blizzard's track record of poor treatment of game designers

I think we all need be angry and made sick with Blizzard’s lack of support for game designers who work from home, players can also play a supportive role in advocating for the well-being of game designers. Game development is a complex process that involves a lot of hard work, creativity, and collaboration, and players can show their appreciation for this work by acknowledging the challenges that game designers face and supporting them in their efforts to work from home.

Players can also provide feedback to game developers in a constructive and respectful manner. By sharing their opinions and suggestions, players can help game designers to understand what they are doing well and where they can improve. This can lead to better games and a stronger relationship between players and game developers.

Ultimately, players and game designers are both invested in the success of the gaming industry. By working together and supporting each other, they can create amazing games that are enjoyed by millions of people around the world.

Honestly the Nerve of this company lose talented desigers on heels of one best expandsions ever release… But count on it that game is going be affected by these and end up wrost states then shadowlands and bfa. I for hate what blizzard is doing there workforce! and think need to change and keep up with times people work home.

ABABK has been pretty good at gaining some ground. I think they will get more unionization into the company. For me as a player, I don’t know enough about the particulars of the negotiations to really have a strong opinion or push for something on their behalf. I’m gonna let them iron it out with Activision, and see what happens.

no boycotting isn’t butvoice opions so blizzard hear us and stick up for designers when there ones slaving away to make us game and bring us enjoyment i think that is right!

the main problem i see the dev is the cost and inconvience working on location has but i also see the issue the company has with not wanting people to leak stuff or sell company secrets. there is a solution and that is move the company to some place that is FAR cheaper to run and cheaper to live around idk id say middle of the states would be ideal as you can get more people willing to work there. cheaper place to work also means more workers more content so on. atm california is a nightmare to run and maintain a company or even to go to work to .

Why would they care what we think?

If there is no consequence… why does it matter?

I mean I could tell them I think they should have a casual friday but that doesn’t mean it’s going to happen.

They make decisions based upon the data that they collect on their profits and work force. Nothing we say is going to change the data.

As a final thought it’s pretty arrogant to think that we have any say in another company’s internal policies.

“Whateva whateva they do what the want” as said by eric cartman. tbh They really will do whatever they want they dont care about us.

O k so are you going to march down to your local companies and start telling them how to run their businesses?

You have a voice

We do not.
Given how unfinished DF felt at launch, and how bad class design is, they haven’t exactly shown that they can work from home successfully imo.

You guys are all working from partial information. Indisputably, their problems started years ago with a fratboy culture which led to lawsuits in unfair treatment of employees, more than one. This is on record, while little else is.

Asking us to take a stand because an employee posting on glass door says people are leaving is something every company has to go through. If it’s due to their new policies around working from home, they better take a good long look at their practices and decide what is right. Half the stuff just says to me that their QA staff is too expensive and that they should be replaced by people in Eastern Europe, as a possible option.

But so far I have found no abuses of any work environment credible, except those around the inequality and early sexual harrassment suits. Boycott because a product manager lost an employee? A product manager is just an employee and not a highly valuable one - get rid of him if he’s losing morale for your company.

That’s not to say Blizzard is in a good shape, they’re clearly not, but I simply don’t know enough to engage in a practice that would probably hurt them more.

I am not an activist. This is work. They don’t have to enjoy their jobs, they have to show up and do a good job writing game software - and if they can’t do that, then maybe Blizzard is not the place for them.
