Someone please explain timerunning to me like im six years old because?

now i may not be the sharpest tool in the shed but what the beep is the point of timerunning?

-previously-locked FOMO content like the wrathion questline and challenge mode will still be inaccessible so that cant be the reason

-mists of pandaria leveling is still in retail AND is very fast-paced so alts cant be the reason

-the cosmetics are like, some recolored yaks and a hat? so that CANT be the point of the event (right???)

to me, it really looks like blizzard are just boosting the EXP rate from MoP quests and adding some funny gems to the gear. cool i guess but why? like im not even asking a rhetorical question, i genuinely do not understand the point someone please explain it to me

i would actually be excited about this event if Holly Longdale didn’t get our hopes up on Twitter about this being “even better” than CM returning. as someone who would like more difficult casual content to be added to the game, im pretty underwhelmed.

It’s unlimited power gains to have fun. Think Torghast powers amped up on all of your gear to own everything in the face for poops and giggles, while getting to buy low droprate stuffs from a vendor.

Well there’s like 32 mounts total that got datamined. So that’s something to hunt after. They might not re-release the original stuff, but there’s recolours of the phoenix, a model I very much want.

I’m not going to explain something that at this point in time is pretty self explanatory, because I don’t think the event is for you judging by this post.

I’m assuming the legendary was cut because the war campaigns (required in the legendary questline) were cut since it involves traveling outside Pandaria. :world_map::robot:

For fun? To get mounts, pets, and transmog that can only be obtained from Timerunning? To level alts super fast to then take into TWW? Take your pick.

it most certainly is for me. i love world of warcraft and mists of pandaria is my favorite expac.

if the point isnt self-explanatory to me (the target audience) then should it not warrant further elaboration?

You are but one person. If you don’t understand it, that’s totally okay. But the target audience isn’t just you. lol

I had to explain it to a guildie, but I used SoulsoBreezy’s video to do so. Which apparently people are offended by here, so I won’t post it. But he does break it down easier to understand if the explanations in this thread aren’t helpful enough.

Did you read the announcement article? Because I’m not sure what we can tell you that it couldn’t.

Because we play this game for fun and because we like to collect stuff…so Blizzard gave us another fun limited time event with a lot of stuff to collect.

I agree with everyone else, it really isn’t that complicated.

This kind of makes it seem as if you’re attempting to say that you are the entire target audience and that everyone is akin to you:

But if you notice, there was an “lol” afterwards. Because I’m teasing you. It was meant to be a joke. Wordings of things come across differently sometimes and I know it wasn’t meant that way, but was having a bit of fun.

Interesting, since I gave two posts of information to help you and was trying to joke around with you.

Perhaps I’m not the one who needs to lighten up. :kissing_heart:

ya i read the wowhead posts. im aware of all the cosmetics and whatnot. it just seems like, not much to get excited about? its just stuff we already have but in a different color.

my confusion comes from the fact that we can already do this content right now if we want to. the difference seems very minimal from what i can see, but i guess that could change when timerunning launches. if it really is just ‘we’re adding new cosmetics’ then thats cool but like, i kinda wanted something more meaningful to do than just leveling in MoP again.

Did you not read the bit about powerups and changed loot rules and accelerated raiding and literally any of the other parts of the article except cosmetics?

I tried to explain it’s got Torghast like powers on steroids to own things in the face for poops and giggles fun. That somehow got ignored. :dracthyr_shrug:

that is an extremely abnormal meaning to project onto someone. people dont say things like this. i obviously meant that i was part of the target audience

why do you write like youre an anime character

So you made this thread to troll, got it. Loud and clear.

It’s an event meant to entice new players.

  • Leveling is super quick
  • Everyone starts off the same
  • Gearing probably much easier
  • Do not have to compete against players with stuff from 20 years of playing
  • Character conveniently will be available to play in TWW

Cosmetics are there as a bribe to get the rest of us to fill out the world.

aside from the new powers, we already have all of these things in retail

we can level from 10-60 in mop content, obtain mop transmog, etc

im not trolling im just stupid
