How do you take an A Tier spec, one with good damage, decent burst, good cc, good defensives, and good off healing, a spec that is fun to play with an identity of instant cast spells and pet elementals and turn it into a complete crap show?
Someone really needs to be fired over this mess. Just acknowledge you messed up and put Ele back to 11.0.2.
This is partially why. Blizzard jumps back and forth on their stance on instant cast spells and doesn’t seem to care about the damage their development with lack of a solid stance on this causes. They do at least say they don’t like casters having a lot of instants but then they make destro locks have a lot of them in their current iteration.
They reworked it in 11.0.0 and it wasn’t throwing instants right and left. It worked - was good and fun. Why did they touch it?
They should learn a lesson “you don’t fix what isn’t broken”.
Yeah no idea why they touched 11.0.0 in the first place. We had an identity of instant cast spells and pet elementals. Now we have no identity, they want us to cast and we have no pets. I think the worst part is the community wasn’t complaining we were doing fine in pvp and pve.
There really needs to be an explanation for all of this nonsense. We are paying customers who put a lot of time and effort into this character only to have it flipped on its head for no reason.
All they had to do was make tweaks and put some polish on the 11.0 rework since it only got one real week of iteration on the beta.
Instead they butchered it.
The funny thing is too that ele in 11.0 had at least 2 different ways to play it. The lightning build and lava burst. Yet now we’re just all pigeonholed into a bugged out op lava burst ascendance build if we want to do any meaningful damage. It’s amazing how it actually was balanced pretty well prior to their rework and now it’s just going to be incessantly balanced to the point of it just not even being fun anymore.
Just play Enhanced and do 40+ % more damage then any other class 
Blizzard has never been anything resembling nuanced with it’s beloved nerf bat. they just kneecap things and then add aura buff later if compelled to.
It’s less about insta casts IMO because this current iteration of Ele has way more insta casts than what we had in 11.0.0 even with them reducing Arc Discharge stacks to 2. This rework happened mainly because of FoL and wanting to get rid of the “spam 1 button for CDR” gameplay that it’s had since Season 3 DF with meatball spam.
Enhance got wrecked this week as well so that’s off the table.
