I have only been playing a couple of months (returning from MoP era).
I threw 6 auctions up, all the mining items (the ones that you combine 10 to make a new one)
Anyway, they sold in under 2 seconds. I’m not exaggerating. I priced them lower than what was the current by just a little bit.
Is there something fishy going on here? Bots? Are that many people buying them and it was just good timing? But even so, how could they see it that fast.

I don’t get it. As soon as I hit create auction, there was a 2 second pause and gone. On all 6.
That means that someone searched the second I posted them, saw it for sale, clicked on it and then clicked buy in under 2 seconds.
How is that even possible?
Every player in NA can buy some of the items so there are a lot more buyers than in the old days because it was limited to only your server.

They don’t search/find your auction anymore. The new system just gives them the cheapest listed when they buy any at all.
There are a lot of people playing the game. If it’s a commonly bought crafting mat from this expac someone is bound to look for it and buy it.
I assume you’re just trying to stir the pot with an argument about ah bots since any normal sane person that had their auctions sell in 2 seconds would say “awesome!” and go about their day.

AH works on a First In, First Out basis.
If you listed your rousing earth while someone was buying it, then it gets bought first.
The chances of someone buying Rousing Earth/Fire/Whatever at any given time is very high since it’s used in crafting basically everything.

This. It’s like your items are added to the pool of existing inventory.
Sure fire not have it grabbed quickly is sell higher.
Still takes an hour to get the gold

Given the information the OP included…specifically, that they were a returning player from the ‘MoP era’…it would seem you’re too quick to make such an assumption. Back in Mists, the auction house hadn’t yet been changed to the ‘last in, first out’ method, and listings were still limited to individual servers. It’s understandable that the OP would be surprised at how quick his listing closed.
It would be sadly ironic if the same people that replied to an honest query with distrustful and unhelpful snark happen to be the same that complain about how toxic the forums are.
It would be indeed. Thankfully that’s not me and I’d challenge you to find such a post of mine. Also I’m completely unapologetic about my distrust for posts around here. Trolls ate the norm not the exception these days.
