Somehow Essences on Alts Feels Worse

Before this patch, the grind for essences was so ridiculous people wouldn’t bother to get them on alts. Now, the grind is better. Better enough to be doable, but still GRINDY. So now alts needs to grind AP, traits, gear, mementos to grind cape, and now echoes to START the endgame content (M+, raids and PVP).

The account-bound system shouldn’t be grindy, should be instantaneous and given. It could be capped, maybe 1-2 for week, but it SHOULD be given. And some extra points:

• you shouldn’t have to log first on your main or nothing like that to unlock essences. If any character of yours have a rank 3 essence, make it purchaseable to all characters. Many people farmed different essences on different characters for convenience and feels bad if u cant buy them all fot your alts
• expand the system to rank 1 and 2 aswell. Some essences take a LOT of effort to get rank 3, but some also needs effort for rank 2 and are also timegated. So if the person didn’t get the rank 3, only 2 on the main, he/she has 2 options: farm rank 3 on main to make it purchaseble on alt or grind on alt for rank 2 and eventually rank 3

I never understood why people were claiming this new system was account wide essences in the first place. It just seem to be like they were giving people options on how to earn them.

That said I already got all the essences on my alts I need so this does nothing at all for me, except it appears remove emissary rewards totally for me now since those echoes are useless.

the thing with emissaries was said to be a bug to be fixed, you still gain the actual reward and now on top of that u get echos

I don’t even know what the actual reward is though - all it shows is echoes. But I guess if it just bugged they might fix it before it disappears so if it was something I wanted to do I can.

In the main post, they specifically said it replaces 3000 Azerite Power when in fact it gives both.

Please note: Echoes of Ny’alotha may appear to replace Azerite in the Emissary and PvP reward panes, however, it does not. Echoes of Ny’alotha are always additive with existing rewards. We believe that it is more important to release this update with a reward display issue than hold the change for a fix. We expect to fix the display issue in the next week or two.

I don’t mind putting in some work to get essences. I wasn’t looking for a free ride on alt progression, just like a lot of people waiting about a month to play an alt wasn’t fun. Now I can get the rank three in a meaningful time while doing content I like.

Does this excuse all the other grindy bull, no, but I don’t hate alt essences now.

I can now play what I want and grind essences with the same 3 preferred activies. I am happy.

Since the essences represents a great % of your dps, hps and tanking aspects, you can’t propely execute your function without the right ones. you won’t be able to make M+ past 5-6, will suffer for Heroic raids or even normal and will fail on pvp aswell

Since the essences represents a great % of your dps, hps and tanking aspects, you can’t propely execute your function without the right ones. you won’t be able to make M+ past 5-6, will suffer for Heroic raids or even normal and will fail on pvp aswell

So you are saying as a fresh 120 in some BoA 410 gear, if not for essences, you would be jumping straight into +5-6 keys and maybe even heroic raiding or pushing arena rating?
