It seems somechanges is getting some traction. We already got DualSpec which is an OBJECTIVELY GOOD thing for the game. Both pvp and pve.
Now we can do SOME changes (similar to TBC) that will keep the meta and feel of CLASSIC but also allow players to play these classes without falling behind MASSIVELY.
Warcraft logs have DPS warriors maxing at around 2300 DPS compared to that average Druid/Pal DPS at 600 and the top ret paladin of all time with a whopping 1000 DPS in MC. These are DPS SPECS designed by the 2004 dev team to deal DPS. They obviously had short comings. But now we have hindsight and we have the chance to change this.
IT ISN’T AT THE SAME LEVEL AS SOD.

I say to you go play CLASSIC ERA. Those are frozen in time in 2004 and you can be in your little world of warriors and nothing else for all eternity. This is our chance to make minor tweaks to improve the game (already did with dual spec)
It’s as simple as giving Paladins some TBC abilities, taunt for prot, Crusader Strike as general, Seal of Blood for rets, make Holy Shock not a joke of an ability etc
The same goes for Frost Mages. There is literally zero argument “UHERM, ACHTUAKLLY, FROST MAGES PLAY THIS SUPER HYPER NICHE ROLE IN PVE AND ARE LITERALLY GODS GIFT TO EARTH IN GAME DESIGN”
Frost Mages are a counter to Fire Mages, and are meant to dps, and they are literally bottom tier trash by a MASSIVE long shot. This is not good game design. Good thing it will take small, minor changes to fix this!
No, we aren’t asking for retail 2.0. Don’t tell me to “GO TO SOD111!!!” because you can go to era lil bro.

Dual Spec probably isn’t objectively good. Without a gold sink there will be less people playing to earn gold. This means pulling people into dungeons will be really hard much faster. As opposed to AQ-era we might see dungeons die off before MC is over.

Balance druid in SoD is so much fun. It might be a little too far away from what a classic caster is, but it’s pretty good.
I played 2019 as Moonkin no regrets, met some great people who allowed me to do it until AQ40 where I changed to Mage. Good times. I’m hanging out for TBC Balance tho CAN’T WAIT!!!

Why always people want changes to make it faster and easier?
For #SomeChanges I’d like more Class quests for all classes, longer, more time consuming, maybe even with an element of randomness to it - like work orders - and with soulbound items, so that you could not stock up or get help from a main.
I’d like more parallel gear patterns, not with better stats, but with different ones. And also in more colourways - and finish sets, some lack boots, some lack cloaks - now we’re at it make more long cloaks for lower levels, those mini-ones look so stupid, and you mostly see the back of your character.
Same for food buffs, why is it always Stam/Spirit except for a select few?
For real QoL I’d like a rollback to most changes, then I’d like Guild banks, bigger banks, Barber shop and transmog of ALL gear (yes also white and grey and class) to ALL gear, only limits on weapon after type.
In short more of the fun, non game mode-changing changes.

Erm, which changes in Classic are you talking about? New UI, Honour farming or what?
While I’m against introducing changes that weren’t in the original Classic role out why not just advocate for TBC prepatch to get released sooner (somewhere between BWL and AQ.)
Serves as a happy middle ground for change/no change people as the pro changes get changes and the nochanges get no modern introduced changes.

I’m for some changes on anniversary servers (smaller changes, not the radical changes of SoD).
If there were no changes, I might have a different opinion but they’re already changing stuff so whatever. I think it’d be nice to shake up the meta some.

It doesn’t need to be on the level of SOD. It could be as simple as this
Paladins get taunt, Crusader Strike that restores mana, and TBC Seal of Blood/Corruption. These are all abilities that have existed in the “classic era”
