New PvP Talent: Master Shepherd – While an enemy player is affected by your Polymorph or Mass Polymorph, your movement speed is increased by 25% and your Versatility is increased by 6%. Additionally, Polymorph and Mass Polymorph no longer heal enemies.
New PvP Talent: Ethereal Blink – Blink and Shimmer apply Slow at 100% effectiveness to all enemies you Blink through. For each enemy you Blink through, the cooldown of Blink or Shimmer are reduced by 1 second, up to 5 seconds.
Glad mages are getting some love, but also love the contrast with the new Evoker honor talent. Remove the CD on Sleep Walk but increase the cast time… okay lmao.
EDIT: To be clear this will be really strong for Preservation and very awkward for Devastation, which will be really starved for slots and doesn’t run haste.
It was always an issue, made even more of an issue by the shortened duration and the popularity of solo shuffle.
Maybe you haven’t been paying attention, but things have changed in the last 20 years. What wasn’t so much an issue 20 years ago may be an issue now, 20 years later.
Polymorph was already an extremely strong CC - relatively quick cast, doesn’t require facing the target, on a separate school of magic for everyone besides Arcane, spammable, yet another ability in the expansive mage toolkit of crowd control… the only trade-off was that it healed the target. Having poly target not heal feels a little absurd
Well currently, that reason is data and statistics.
You are wasting your time, yes. Polymorph may seem strong at 1500 or around there, but it’s quite weak at non-low rating, so much so it barely gets used if at all.
