I just played through Zereth Mortis on an alt.
Some things that made me scratch my head upon the second playthrough.
-
What did the Dreadlords hope to accomplish by making Argus the new Arbitor?
-
Why was Arbitor Peligos wearing the newly-forged Crown of Wills?
-
Why are souls still being channeled into the maw?
-
If Tyrande had executed Sylvanas in Oribos, would Peligos have sent her soul to Revendreth?
-
If Sylvanas had died in Oribos, would the Kyrian have to snatch up her soul… or…?
-
Do you think Zovaal chafed against the Furs-Wuns because they made him wear that ridiculous outfit?
-
What exactly did Sylvanas do to help us in the Sepulcher? Uther seemed hell-bent on having her accompany us.
Didn’t you see her cheerleader outfit and pom-poms?

Prob because zovaal thought a world soul that knew only suffering would be a better arbiter than a machine. Basically the opposite of the kind of arbiter Pelagos does.
Helps protect him from Domination magic. Just a little fail safe
Probably. He’s sending any bad eggs to Revendreth instead of The Maw. Since to him every soul at least deserves one chance at redemption
If Zovaal is going to reshape reality, then why does he need an Arbitor at all?
Who is going to dominate the Arbitor? This scene happens after the fall of Zovaal.
This seems accurate.
shrug Could just be part of his reshaping process. His arbiter handling the shadowlands while he goes and remakes the reality of the living world
I’m aware but I’m sure they’re just having it there as a “better safe than sorry”. Since the Jailer only mastered domination magic. The source was The Primus.
Also Denathrius is still up and about so might as well keep Pelagos safe JUST IN CASE Ol Dennys has knowledge of how domination magic is made
It sounds like you’ve given this more thought than Danuser

Just doing my best with what I’m given lol
Pls dont try to understand SL lore
Everytime i play i just turn off my brain and do the stuffs i want to in game
I’ve been trying so hard to do the same but nothing stands up to scrutiny.
Take, for example, the Prototype Pantheon. It’s a cool encounter, mechanically. But when you stop and look at the Proto-Denathrius, you’ll see he’s got a cool, levitating sword (ala Remournia). Seeing that sword diminishes the coolness of the actual Remournia.
Any headcanon you had about the blade is gone. No backstory.
Why didn’t Daddy-D turn back into a robot (like Zovaal did) and require the intervention of the loyal blade, Remournia?
Eh. The current version of Denathrius and his siblings come off as “yeah we WERE originally mechanical beings but we’ve become something new once our creators fueled us with their essence”
So its like a robot becoming something more synthetic over time.
Remornia’s base design may have always been part of their creators plan. But just the base. Remornia is still uniquely Remornia
( Well that and I imagine having the sword in that boss fight saves time because they can just reuse a lot of stuff from his raid fight )
Yeah, I think laziness informed that encounter’s design. It sabotaged the coolness of Remournia, though.
It just frustrates me that any level of scrutiny makes Shadowlands fall apart.
